All I needed was some sunshine, temperatures above 40 degrees F, a shovel, some bone meal and a garden center, and I'm ALL smiles. :D

Even though I have Primroses coming up from last year, you can NEVER have enough of them to welcome Spring.

There was NO way I was gonna leave those Hyacinths in the store.

So now I have a little bit of color when I look out my window. :)

Very nice! I got hyacinths also, I got them in pots at Krogers, and after the blooms fell off I haphazardly tossed them in the ground, and am very excited to see they all took and are growing now. :) the smell almost gets you high ;D

I shall not say on the open forum how I feel about your snowy landscape. :54: Let's just say we've had enough of that white stuff last winter to last me a lifetime. I'm surprised I woke up from hibernation.

Laura, I could have quite easily gone a bit crazy in the garden center, and kept reminding myself I ONLY wanted a LITTLE color, and not be broke in the beginning of the month, LOL. :D Yes, the scent of the Hyacinth is incredible!

Chris, those Hys were probably meant to be kept in the house for Easter, but since I was getting my hands dirty already, I figured I'd plop them in the ground now. I think they'll last longer outdoors than inside. Now I have more reasons to go outside and get a good whiff of them. :) I swear, with the sun shining on them, I can smell them inside with the window open. I'm getting "high on Hy". :D

@Terry: Of course we'll be needing an "after" pic now, as well. Wow, still snowing, eh? Canadian winters are brutal.

Yup that's exactly what I did last year, and they're coming up now, so yours will come up again next year, and will multiply :)

NICE! My daffodils are coming up, ONE tiny yellow bloom and the rest are just getting ready to bloom. My hyacinths are growing, but have the pine cone look still, no flowers yet. I am SO SO ready to be done with this winter. Looking forward to your garden pics through the season.

Beth, would you believe last year not a single garden center had Primroses. The year before I had to drive quite a ways to get some, and luckily over half of those have been coming back every year. I think they're a hit or miss. But I love them SO much, their colors are just so vibrant, AND they bloom until summer. They're not fond of excess heat, so I put mine in semi shade. :)

Patti, I bet you are just as fed up with the cold temps as I am. :( Last winter I lost 3 of my priced Hybrid Tea Roses. :( There's absolutely no salvaging them, all canes are pitch black. Just to cheer myself up some I ordered more English Roses. Can't wait for them to get here (by the end of this month).

I ordered this one, David Austin Rose "Princess Alexandra of Kent"

And this one, David Austin "Darcey Bussell"

If you can take a picture, Patti, that would help. What color are the canes? It's the super old rose bush, right? I'll keep my fingers crossed it will come back for you.

Yeah, it's super old and after cutting it down quite a lot last year and really feeding it well, it came back pretty strong. Now....yeah, not so strong. I will try to get a pic.

....- LOTS and LOTS of daffodils!

That's the keyword right there, quick, funny story: When we first moved in here in 1999, we had LOTS of landscaping to do. An entire "do over" to be exact. Well, my "boys" were only 11 and 8 at that time, and they were kind of getting in the way while husband and I were working feverishly to remove certain ugly shrubs.

So I told them to pull out the Dandelions that were all over the grass, and I pointed at them. Even gave both of them a little shovel, so they could rip 'em out by the roots.

30 minutes later my Mike wanted to know where they were supposed to put all the "onions". Onions? WHAT onions? Instead of ripping out the Dandelions, they had undug each and every Daffodil by the house.

Wendy, you did a wonderful job with the landscaping. Gorgeous photos. What happened with the onions/daffodils? Did the boys replant them for you?

Your snowscape is pretty too, Terry. :)
