Sorry I've been quiet lately

Hi All!

I miss chatting to you guys so much! Unfortunately, life is very demanding at the moment - nothing bad, just busy busy with work demands, family life, travelling, etc.

I have checked in here from time to time when I have a few minutes so I know that (most of) you are behaving well. Keep it that way please

Jack is getting more hand tame by the day and is really starting to come around.

Percy is fit and flourishing but apparently entering a hormonal phase. Lots of wing lifts, tail flares and eye pins lately . I even suffered a reeeally nasty bite to my lip, a few hours ago. Thought I may need stitches but after I stopped the bleeding (looked like a vampire with the blood pouring from my mouth LOL!) & applied lots of ice, the wounds (lower mandible half moon slice below the lip and star shaped puncture in the lip from the top mandible) seem to have stopped bleeding and although I'm going to have a movie star pout tomorrow, I think it will be ok. This was really the worst damage he's ever done - oh, why did it have to be my face? While I could feel the blood running down my chin, I managed to return him to his cage and covered him up for bedtime (it was his bedtime anyway). I feel awful because I didn't give him his bedtime snack or his normal "night night baby boy" with each fold of his blanket. I just covered him and walked away My poor baby must think I hate him! I was very upset at the time but I can't stay upset with him and now I just want to wake him and cuddle him

Anyway, just wanted to check in and let you all know that I'm still around. Hugs and (careful) kisses all round!:10:

I hope things settle down! When is your trip planned? Sounds like you really need a relaxing get away!!

I've already been on the trip which was, sadly, rather underwhelming. Even tough I live on the coast, I'm not much of a sea, sun & fun girl - I'm much happier in the mountains. It was insanely hot and I couldn't really enjoy daytime in that sun (doc warned me to be careful of sun damage after my recent mole scare). So I tended to come out at night like a ghost and took long moonlit walks on the beach...by myself I did come back with really nice gifts for my family and my bestie at work who didn't qualify. He was overjoyed with his gift

Oh and Jen, I didn't want to say it but I *was* hinting at certain people in particular with the 'being good' comment. Interesting to note how the main culprit saw right through my attempt at tact!!!

The lip is actually looking surprisingly well! I iced the living daylights out of it and that seems to have minimised the swelling and also helped to 'mend' the cuts. I will see what it looks like tomorrow. It may be a case of "Look out Angelina Jolie! Here I come!" LOL!!

I'm sorry to hear about your lip Michelle! Hormonal male BFA doesn't sound fun, but you really do such a GREAT job with him.

Don't believe the rumors, the truth is so much more boring!! I haven't really had time to get into trouble, new family member has been keeping me busy.... no one warned me that a macaw would be more needy then my cockatoo!! Never would have guessed that one!
