It's still working progress after 6 years....we work on it yearly and add this and that constantly to make it look even better. Lots of pictures!

Ignore all the dead spots in the grass and some half dead plants by the house. Waiting for those brush to leaf out so I know what to clip off as this past winter been harsh. Dead spots in grass from using weed and feed to kill off weeds. We're working on it.... :)

Very nice! I like the yellow and white retro glider and your mini-barn:D Give it a few more years and you're really going to have an outdoor oasis going on back there.

Mikey, your yard is an absolute credit to you! I have to say, you have beautiful taste in what you plant and how you plant it. It's so easy for a garden to quickly become cluttered and overblown with too much in it. As Terry said, your yard is indeed an oasis of peace and calm and beauty. Congratulations on all your hard work!

I have to tell a little boring story about garden gnomes. I hope you enjoy it, since you're clearly a gnome person.

When my son and I lived in College, one of the administrators had a birthday. His wife, who was a great friend of ours, invited us to Tom's birthday breakfast to be attended by about fifty people. As it happened, this particular guy had a deep hatred of garden gnomes. No one knew why, but he used always to scoff at them when he saw them in peoples' gardens or in shop catalogues or whatever.

So, guess what every single one of his fifty birthday guests gave him for his birthday?

The one I gave was a leather portrait of the cover of the book, 'Gnomes'. I traced and carved the gnome, then embossed him and painted him in lifelike colours. Though I say so myself, he was pretty nice! Guess which gnome was the only one Tom kept? :)

I had one before I paved over it for the driveway on the side of the house. So in order to have one in the backyard I need to fence it to keep the dogs out. And my neighbor and I are working on clearing out their backyard of trees that's shading where we want the garden, without doing so the garden would not thrive. So that's in working progress. :)

That glider is kewl isn't it. Install it last week. And that's a new grill after my dogs pretty much ruin the last one. Now they're older hopefully they won't try to eat the knobs off and stuff....lol

Trish, thank you so much cause you hit it right on! I'm a perfectionist if you look at my hanging ferns on my porch. I looked for how they look like before I brought them home. We bought most of the plants off the discount cart at Lowe's as I bring them back alive. It doesn't always work but most do make it, only a few don't make it. I have a ton of plants indoors too....lol

Looks stunning Mike you sure have a talent for gardening
The colours blend in beautifully

Thanks for sharing

We find what we like then I place them together to make a pot and with my partner's help on how some should look to make us happy with compromise. But most are my idea on how I wanted it done. This is the second year we had the pleasure of doing pots outside and this year looks better then last. It started last year after the patio was done. Sprucing up the front after the driveway was done. We're quite happy! :)
