I am so thrilled we received our MSBS order today! I took Kiwi down to the postal annex to pick up his goodies and then right home:D They did a beautiful job packaging everything, it was like opening up a box of gifts lol. Kiwi seemed to know it was for him too and actually hung out on my leg while we went through the box;) I was SHOCKED at the size of the SMALL grass mat. I was thinking something a little smaller than a potholder, but it is HUGE! Kiwi is going to love it once I put toys on it:) The foraging toys are so different from the ones he has (and has figured out), so I'm happy he'll have some more challenging toys to mess with!

Well..... when are you going to open it mom?! (BTW, check out the new yellow patch spreading down his neck:D That's just coming in with him molting, and he's getting more yellow on his wings. He's getting even more stunning!)

That looks like fun! I was going to put an order in last week but got sidetracked. Now you've gone and motivated me again. :)

How nice! :) Kiwi thinks it's Christmas!

How long did it take to arrive here on the west coast (from NJ)?

I just ordered Raven's birthday present (actually everyone is getting party favors too)! Bad mom though, b-day is in 2 days, so presents will be a bit late :(

I was so frustrated at first... I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't let me complete the order, and kept erasing my info, etc. telling me invalid this and that. It was because I was using my iPad! I guess tablets aren't compatible with online ordering? When I called this morning, the girl was super nice, and set up my account and did my order all by phone :)

Julie- it took about a week to get here:) I'm sure Raven will forgive you for the belated gifts if you bribe him with the right grates on his special day;)

Wow Kiwi is one lucky birdie. He sure looks like he is enjoying his loot. :D

We love ordering from MSBS - although not sure hubby is so happy. It usually takes a few weeks to get here to Oz and maybe a bit more if you have wooden products. Either way it is worth the wait.

April, we'll still have a "party" with lots of treats :). Hopefully everyone will be on good behavior that day. Raven and Griffin were bad boys tonight :(.

Raven bit me because I had to put him away. Then Griffin had several time outs tonight as he tried repeatedly to test the limits when he kept crawling down Raven's open cage door to hang on the bottom, then drop a few inches to the floor. (You know how he's always at Raven's house lol). Finally... he learned that the consequence of doing that is getting scooped up for an immediate time out locked in his cage. One time I had to hide my laughter from him, but he was in a corner sulking lol it looked so cute and funny! I guess at one point he got tired of having time outs, and decided to be good. I'd look at him sideways and say "you better not do it Griffin" "go up" (while pointing with my finger up the cage). Finally he understood that it's okay to hang on the bottom edge of the door, but if he doesn't go all the way down on the floor, and turns back around and goes up, he gets a lot of praise and cuddles!

IMO, it's too dangerous for a small gray bird to be on the floor. THAT IS WHY I'm so strict on him about it. You just can't easily see him when you're in a hurry. I've never liked birds on the floor. Especially small birds. In fact just the other day, I was rushing around in the room and walking fast, the birds were out... THANK GOD I saw Griffin before I trampled over him:eek:!

Btw... Kiwi is so ADORABLE looking with his Scooter Z's toy. :) I love their toys! Robin does too.

Raven and griffin really are your naughty ones aren't they? I never hear you mention Robin misbehaving:) Kiwi is only allowed on the floor when we put him on the floor and are supervising, and he's a large green bird! I don't think it's safe for any bird to be on the floor unless everyone in the house knows they're down there and have their eyes on them.

The Scooter Z toys are adorable! I know they are for smaller birds, but he is so gentle with this type of toy I couldn't pass it up. He was so cute with it, carrying it around with him all afternoon:D They had a "deal of the day" going on when I ordered that was 25% off their acrylic foraging toys, so I ordered 4. After fighting the packaging for about 10 minutes, I hung the blue and green one last night- it took him all of 10 minutes to retrieve the treat. Who's smarter here- the bird or the human:20: The party ball is so much bigger than I thought, so I'm going to put treats AND small toys in it;) See how fast he figures that one out!:54: I'm hoping I have a long enough segment of stainless chain so I can "anchor" it to his platform in such a way he can still roll it, but can't knock it off...

Oh April, don't think Robin is such a good boy all the time ;)... It's just that he's more sedate than Griffin.
Just about the only "bad" thing that Robin does is bite (HARD) and hang on and grind until you're bleeding . being a mature Poi (especially a male). He's usually pretty good, but I have to be extra careful during the winter months (Poi breeding season). Poi's, and I've heard Greys (not sure about other Africans) don't always have a 'noticeable' level of body language warning before striking unfortunately :(.

I think Kiwi needs the most difficult type of foraging toy there is! That must be fun to watch a bird use those toys. My boys don't use those plastic puzzle toys. They need something way easier or else they'll give up and ignore it from then on lol. I've bought several in the past that have gone to waste. They're not cheap either! Griffin is probably the best at it out of all of them. He'll get nutriberries out of slotted balls, but couldn't figure the clear plastic wheel with a hole in it :(. Raven and Robin will just look at it going "duuuhh" LOL!

Awesome order!! I love Kiwi with his little toy ;) such a cutie. And he IS getting more and more beautiful! Just shows how much he is loved. :) I posted an updated picture of Gale's seagrass mat now that she's had it for a bit in the Alexandrine section. I'm sure Kiwi is going to love his. :)
