We adopted Charlotte recently as she's an older cat with one of her eye surgically removed due to injury. She was very sad and not very social. She'll hiss at you when you open her cage door. She's lived in kennels most of her life cause no one wants to adopt her. She's opened up to us and loving us very much!!!

Here's a video of her playing! :)

Charlotte is a beautiful cat! So cute too :) I'm happy to hear she can really start "living" now. She needed the right nurturing home to open up.

Is she kept separate from birds? How does that work? What do the dogs think of her?

She is kept away from the birds but she runs off when the birds flop or scream. The dogs are not allowed around the cats. Except the chihuahua. My huskies will kill cats.

I'm a super sucker for Siamese. Both of ours are Siamese mixes from the pound.

She's a pretty kitty!

Our other cat that we rescued off the streets is part siamese. His temperament is the same with that whining cry that they make. :)

Cute pic!

And that's awesome you're rescuing and loving animals that open up to you in turn!

Thanks to modern meds, my allergies are under control and I've had a cat for 3 weeks, and adopting a second if things work out.

I was going to keep my animal farm separate, except I'd read this:

Keeping birds together with cats and dogs - SAFELY!

I am considering slowly training both Morgan and Morgaine (my kitties, ages 3 and 1) to be fully bird friendly. So far Morgan won't fondle the cages or go for a mcnugget dinner or anything, but Morgaine is a lot younger, spry, and needs a little more training... assuming I keep her but she's a riot...
