You know it's a Monday when you empty your birds water dish in the trash and food dish in the sink before you realize you've done something wrong

I'm only laughing because I've done that exact thing, more than once...!!

For me it's not a Monday thing. It's a BC thing. Some of us don't function Before Coffee.

I just point and grunt.

Been there done that too many times! I've started just dumping both in the sink so I don't get soggy garbage (I have a garbage disposal)

I don't function well before coffee and Miss Zilla insists on her breakfast before I can get coffee made!

Thanks for the giggle, April. I'm laughing with you, not at you. I've done the same thing. Another favorite BC is to stumble around with breakfast bowls and not notice until I've dropped a full bowl of birdie breakfast right through the ring holder that I've put the wrong bowl in the wrong cage.

LOL I've dumped water in the trash before... "What did I just do?? Eh. Oh well...."

I've also collected the budgie food dishes, dump them out, fill with fresh food, get distracted by some other animal or my child, dump the food dishes...awww man!!!

Oh yeah, I've done some mindless things and then wondered..... huh?

So many of our repetitive chores are done on "autopilot" and we are sitting ducks for distractions!

Usually not. There was one day I had a very early car appointment, so I woke Kiwi up, got his breakfast and water ready and walked out the door. I got home, did some other things and around one he started squawking up a storm. I couldn't imagine what had gotten into him.... Well, I forgot to put his water back and he wanted his afternoon bath! I felt so bad

I rarely see him drinking from his dish but despite a daily shower, he still finds it necessary to take a birdbath every afternoon

LOL - I actually did it today with the water, and it's Monday, my day off (sort of).

This was the busiest week and weekend for me in last few months...

Ha ha ha....I've done that....worse yet 2 of my parrots sit on either side of my shoulder when I make their breakfast in morning, One morning, and it had to have been a Monday, I poured coffee into their bowls.....My one parrot pecked me on the cheek as if saying HEY, wake up....then instantly, I said "whoops" ! and both start the Whoops whoops simultaneously, Whoops, WHOOPS, whoop, whoop...LOL....Awwww Hush I'd say, you make it then...LOL.

That is too funny

Good thing they noticed the coffee didn't belong, or else they would have been bouncing off the walls and you've been none the wiser as to why

Mine is a real grouch in the morning and liable to bite before he's fully awake and aware. I used to greet him with kisses in the morning, then he bit me in the nose because he woke up on the wrong side of the perch one day! I prep his breakfast before I take off the covers and leave him alone for half an hour or so before approaching most mornings

He may be many things, but an early bird Kiwi is NOT! Once he has a healthy portion of fruit and his grains/beans mix in him, he's actually quite sweet. I think his morning fruit is like our morning coffee- no fruit and the birdbrain does not begin functioning!

Okay, so it was on Thursday, but since I was getting stuff for birds and me being a total dingbat..

I went to Home Depot to get some ss replacement bolts, nuts and various parts. Home Depot only had SOME of what I needed, so I bought them, and then went to Ace Hardware to see if they had the rest. They didn't have the pieces I was looking for either, and SOMEHOW :52: I had momentarily forgotten that I already got some of the stuff at Home Depot, and managed to purchase these SAME items again at Ace!

When I got home I looked at what I had bought at the two stores, and it wasn't until moments after I was throughly confused that I FINALLY realized what had happened.. Man, did I feel stupid :30:!

I am laughing here but I am a complete zombie without my first cup of coffee......so I don't do anything until I have had it......lol. I would probably throw my bird in the trash and keep the dirty dishes......lol. COFFEE.....COFFEE....COFFEE.....I think I need some more.
