So, if I wasn't going a tad OCD in recent months with the minimalism and a growing need to clean our apartment top to bottom daily, now I'm having clutter nightmares:52: I seriously had a nightmare last night that we were moving again and we had too much stuff to fit in this uhaul, so we were going to have to get rid of Kiwi because he wouldn't fit and once we started trying to bring everything inside this new house the cops showed up and I was going to go for jail for having too much stuff. Also vaguely remember my arch nemesis of food bits in the sink while doing dishes (which I HATE and cannot tolerate) being in there somewhere. I woke up very much feeling on the verge of a panic attack. Found even more stuff to get rid of and feel better, but just having SO much anxiety lately about clutter. Possibly because I've been *trying* to break one of my worst nervous habits of nail biting which is proving to be very stressful. So NOT amused to be having clutter nightmares of piles of clutter ruining my life:31:

Anyone else have really weird nightmares?

Well nightmares are definitely a reflection of what bothers you in waking life. They seem to come out when something is bothering you so much that it's at the forefront of your mind.

ROTFL!! Had to get rid of Kiwi cause he wouldn't fit in the Uhaul :D That's funny.

I know I have the strangest dreams since I'm going through a huge stressful time right now, but I usually can't remember them by the time I wake in the morning. Unless it was going on right at the time I awake. My dreams and nightmares don't usually make sense (to tell in words) like your dream was.

There are these dream dictionaries online that claim that dreaming of certain things have particular meanings in waking life. Dreammoods.com is fun to look at FWIW. Some of the things seem to be true.

Around here clutter isn't a nightmare. It's a way of life...

Hmmm, KB, you might need to discuss these concerns with others, more directly knowledgeable of these types of stressors.....

I feel comfortable designing & building some construction project, but delving into things of the abstract, I get lost.....

:))

I have "toilet" dreams .

Hey! I just broke my nail biting habit. Seriously, ever since I was 10 years old I've had short stubby fingernails but within the last 4 months I've been able to grow them out so they look halfway decent by putting on nail polish, now even if I don't have nail polish on I don't chew them............have you tried that? lol Kiwi wouldn't fit in a U-haul? Cops arresting you for too much clutter???!!! LOL, I needed a chuckle. Thank you!

a few years ago my Mom and I were up late, couldn't sleep so were watching tv and there was this comedian who was HILARIOUS! something about a phone ringing and it's an old college friend who's in the neighborhood and wants to stop by and visit him. The guy's like What?!! you can't come here! **college friend** why not? (comedian singing) cuz I've got clutter!, cl cl clutter, clutter, clutter, cl cl clutter! lol this was super funny and probably loses something in the translation unless you've seen it................ can't remember who it was though, I'd love to watch it again! :)

Well, I've been at this minimalization process for a while now. There were a few things that I found along the way that needed replacing. It's been kind of a battle though after going through the whole horrifying process of decluttering to want to bring anything new back in. It kinda turned me off shopping.

I can't remember most of my dreams either, but occasionally I have very vivid ones, and this one last night was vivid and frightening. Poor little Kiwi would NEVER be left behind though! And that website is fun to look at. Not sure how much I buy into dream interpretation in that context, but it's fun! Toilet dreams lol, apparently that can mean quite few things:52:

Oh, it's a nightmare when you've spent the last 7 or so months repeatedly going through every cabinet, drawer, nook and cranny getting rid of it! Trying very hard to get down to ONLY the things we use and enjoy, everything else can go! NEVER wanting it to accumulate clutter again becomes a legitimate fear:54:

I've been a nail biter since I was a kid too. I have been wearing some kind of less-toxic nail polish from the health food store. Unfortunately, I also have the urge to use my teeth to scrape the polish off (I used to do that in high school when I regularly painted my nails) then bite the nails. I have been hopping on my energy bike or eating carrots when I get the urge to chew (urge to chew, lol, what am I? a parrot!?:green:).

The kid is moving out in late November.

That's when I will make my attempt to de-clutter... until then, it's pointless.

It'll be easier to throw things once she's gone...

Well, clutter is one thing. Around here, it's a function of a lack of useful storage space.

Hoarding is something completely different. THAT is mental illness...

I do the same thing, for awhile I let things build up and then had to purge the house of all the extra stuff. And when I did it, I went into it big time. My husband looked so unhappy as he saw things flying out the door left and right. He tries to keep every silly little thing (don't even get me started on his shopping receipt and junk mail piles), I try to get rid of anything nonessential now. If I can't use it, it doesn't stay. Everything gets too messy and piled up-I can't take it and it really wrecks my peace of mind so I donate whenever I get extra stuff lying around.

Tusk is responsible for Junk Mail in this house. It's a favorite bird toy, along with phone books, and empty soda boxes. Once or twice a week, I stuff the mail into the soda boxes and just toss it on top of his cage...

It magically turns into confetti...

That's how it's becoming for me!
