My wife and I want to say "thanks" to the parrot forum community and all
the nice words, advice and support in times of losing Birdell for 26 hours. It helped a lot.......And It was a Happy ending.

You all are great caring and loving individuals....Know that you'll always have my support, my best advice and encouraging words when you need them most.

Don't you wish the whole world was as great as the people on this forum?

Thanks everyone!

Mike and Glenda

You are both inspiring. I love being able to share with a group that understands me and my love of fids. Your wife gets extra kudos for what she endured with her bite to her neck, she is an amazing lady. You get extra kudos too for climbing a pine tree to rescue Birdell, lol. You have both haf amazing circumstances this last week and you are inspiring. Hugs to you both!!

Thank you so very much for your kind words, Mike & Glenda! :)

I agree, I absolutely love this place. The support, encouragement, advice, information to be found, and information yet to be discovered, including friendships that are made all make this a great place to hang out and communicate. :)

HUGS to you both again, Mike & Glenda...and hugs all the way around!

I'm glad that our words helped you both during such a difficult time. And happier still that Birdell is now back home with you safe and sound.

I love this place as well, and when I needed support, everyone was there for me, too. This community actually resembles a big, extended family in a lot of ways, and I'm so thankful for that.

It actually dose feel like extended family....it's common bond with birds.

Thank you so much for your very kind words. We do have a special community here, it's a great group to be a part of, and I agree, it feels like family. I've learned, laughed, cried, hoped, been inspired, held my breath in anticipation of test results, rushed to the forum to check on a sick or lost bird, celebrated homecomings and hatch days, shared photos and stories and formed amazing friendships.

Birdell's safe return is one of those shared moments that makes this forum so very special and so worthwhile.

Mike and Glenda, I know you've had a rough few days and I commend you both for handling it all so well. I hope you can take some time to relax and enjoy a little peace and tranquility now. Hugs to you both.

Mike and Glenda, we were all so relieved to hear you were able to get Birdell back again! There's nothing quite like that sick-making feeling when they fly off, leaving you to wonder whether they'll even survive, let alone make their way home. I know what you mean when you talk about the massive support to be had from our forum members. I couldn't believe the goodwill and kindness I received from members when my Barney nicked off last year! Every day people were asking after him, sending advice and prayers and reminding me not to give up hope. When he returned, the rejoicing was amazing!

'Oh, I'm glad you got your bird back' isn't quite the same kind of support, is it? :D

Please tell Birdell that Barney sends him a high-five and a relieved squawk that he's home safe. I'd suggest you watch Birdell closely for the next little while. Since he's been out in the Big Wide World, Barney has shown a marked inclination to try and find his way out again. I don't think my nervous system could cope with that! :22_yikes:

I do notice she's a bit afraid of the dark now when I put her to bed, so I pet her a little extra long as she sit's on top her cage...Tonite she laid on her back on my chest with feet sticking straight up and head **** way back resting on me and completely zonked out.

I don't think my nerves would handle another episode like that, nor my legs for that matter, I must have walked 20 miles over rough, muddy, wet and hilly terrain, zigg sagging a 2 mile radius in circles.

But she's home safe......and that's the best thing.

Thanks
