So I am in the process of trying to sell most of our stuff for the move to Central America. This is a lot easier said than done! Craigslist people are SO annoying, saying they want to buy then never showing. I am wondering if eBay would be better, but then I would have to ship things like toaster ovens and cooktops. I am also selling a BRAND NEW Austin air cleaner thingy and the beautiful 5 foot manzanita tree I just bought--hard to part with stuff you JUST bought! Downsizing makes you realize just how much stuff you own, stuff you never even use. Ugh.

You can also try advertising on ebayclassifieds. :) Specify in your ad that you will not be shipping items. You can do this on regular ebay as well.

Good luck with everything.

Since it seems you have quite a lot of stuff have you considered advertising an estate sale. That way you can choose a weekend and have people come to you. I would pick a main room in the house such as the living room and have all the sale items in that room. Just a thought. It is way too much of a hassle advertising each item separately, and then have people jerk you around by not showing up.
