Hie-hie sorry for the heading but it is true! Forest is in breeding season for the past 6 months and he wants to mate with everything that is green or brown. About a month ago he had me out of my jacket and vest in a parking area by a shopping mall!

Stupid me wore my green jacket yesterday when I took forest for his garden walk. He went to lay down next to the pool - kicked his legs back and basked in the sun. I reckoned it was a good idea and made myself comfortable next to him while Sterretjie watched us from her chosen perch. Sterretjie was practicing the wolf whistle and she had all my attention.

About 10 minutes later I looked up and straight into Forest's pinned eyes - mouth open and in full blown attack mode. Thank God I saw him and I took my jacket off in a flash and threw it to him and ran. Crazy iguana!

Anyway, while I had my camera with me and waited for my crazy boy to finish (can take up to 20 minutes!!!!) I saw this beautiful grasshopper drinking water from my Afrikanertjie.

Oh the joys of being an iguana owner!:D

Your photos are always lovely. I bet your are a pro!!

Ah that is such a nice thing to say - thank you very much! :D

I am definitely not a pro but I do take hundreds of photos for fun. We have a house that overlooks the the Crocodile River that is inside the Kruger National Park. We are going again this weekend, I'll share some photos of the trip. I have immense luck in spotting predators and almost every single trip delivered lions, wild dogs and leopard. My favorite is elephants, I swear I bought a house there just to be close to them.

Down South in Kruger? There is a female on the S28, I've seen her over several years and seen her raising 4 cubs and then the latest were 2 cubs. My closest experience with her was June '10, she ran in front of our car - both me and Craig had such an adrenalin rush, it was awesome!

Here are photos of her that I have on my laptop - the rest are on my computer at home. Unfortunately they were very far away on this occasion:

You can see there were 4 cubs in these photos.

She is VERY hard to spot and we have to scan the S28 for days before we find her with luck.:D

Absolutely breath taking pictures! I can't even imagine what it would be like to look out my window and see these amazing creatures wandering around my back yard or walk in front of my car.

I envy you Wildheart!
