So I went to my local orchard yesterday and picked up some fresh fruit. Problem is what's fresh right now is cherries. I don't actually like cherries.

I searched for a good recipe.. Found sweet cherry and apple crisp.
Took me 2.5 hours, it is finally finished. It's a huge 9 x13 pan. I took a small portion like two spoonfuls, because I honestly don't know what I'll think of it.
Who makes a yummy dessert using a fruit you don't even like?!??? Yea that's me.

It's pretty good though as long as I don't focus on the cherry part. It has walnuts and lots of sugar and apples. And butter, all good to me. :)

Giving some to my vet tomorrow when he comes back to check the new filly.

That sure looks delicious! Did you have to remove all the pits from the cherries first? Looks like it was a lot of work, too. :)

Yes it took forever too!!!!! I did buy a cherry pit removed dohickey but it still took a long time. All but 3 of the quart of cherries went into it (2 for Chiqui and 1 for Loki today)

I'm heading to watch my friends 3 month old baby for the morning and I brought her some.

LOL over the pit dohickey...I love cherries, it is one of the fruits that I greatly anticipate each year. I wait for the organic to come after the regular. I never look at the price... I love them too much to care. I sit down with a huge bowl of them and make a meal of it! One of my always happy moments sitting with a bowl of cherries and spitting out the pits. YUM!!!!

That sounds delicious! Was even a tiny bit offered to certain feathered friends? I personally LOVE cherries, unfortunately, they never stick around long enough to do anything besides eat them straight from the bag:D

I love fresh cherries but hate artificial cherry flavors. I have 13 nieces and nephews that would eat your cherries no matter what form they are in, natural or dessert, lol.

Haha I eat chocolate only once in awhile but it's not my go to. Vanilla, white chocolate or anything lemon.

As much as I hate to admit it.. It is absolutely delicious.
I was afraid to offer some to the feathered ones.... There's a LOT of butter and sugar in it (3/4 stick butter and between the sugar and brown sugar....like 2 cups...)

Maybe I'll allow them each a teaspoon with me... But chick is a birds trashcan and LOVES her junk food... Gave her a small bite of an apple cider donut and you would think I hung the moon... Same goes for if I'm eating tortilla chips... Must. Share.
