I had a gorgeous red tail hawk visit me today in my backyard, so I grabbed my camera so I could share with my fellow bird-nerds [emoji41]

I *think* this guy (?) is a juvenile who possibly fledged earlier this month~ he was sort of flapping about, jumping from branch to branch, stretching his wings, etc so it made me think he's still getting the hang of things.....but I'm no expert~ it just seemed like he was practicing.

Probably about 80 ft?? I used a 250mm lens to shoot the pics, and then blew them up a bit while I was editing them.

So my falconer friend confirmed its a juvenile passage red tail hawk ~at this point they're most likely still being fed by the parents too.
