I am hating Photobucket right about now.... Although when it works, it's very convenient.

I'm talking about the app for my iPad and Android phone (not a desktop version).

From Photobucket, I click 'upload' to grab the photo I want from my iPad, but immediately, at the point where it normally would start loading, it gets an error message that says "retry" where you can either retry (which never works) or clear the failed upload.

I'm not doing anything different from the way I've uploaded hundreds of other pics before!

Anyone have any insight into why this might be happening? As far as I've googled, I haven't found a solution.

The photobucket website is down so that might be why it isn't working. I was trying to get links from it earlier which is why I noticed. I just used imgur for what I wanted tonight.

Well I hope that's the reason! It also went haywire when doing an auto backup, and it automatically duplicated a pics about 20 times, and won't let me delete the excess copies!

One thing I found strange that I forgot to mention, is that yesterday I was able to upload a couple pics, but not others from the same photo stream! That's what I can't understand.

The website also opens other tabs to virus-infested sites.... Something happened to photobucket, I wouldn't use it.

:eek: I've never clicked on anything there that took me out of Photobucket.

The Apple company has told me that their products (my iPad) can NOT get infected by viruses, but other people knowledgeable with computers say they can.

Geez.. Now I'm kind of worried. Hopefully it's okay!

You still need an antivirus program for Mac, especially if you do anything with sensitive personal information on it (like banking). Not as many attacks are geared towards mac users as windows, but they CAN and do happen. I have an antivirus/malware type app on my macbook and it occasionally does detect suspicious activity and blocks it. I never go to "questionable" sites, but those hackers are out there even on reputable sites!

Photo bucket is back up now though. Apparently they were doing routine work during the off hours and someone screwed up big time so they were basically down all day yesterday because of it:p

Thank you April :). Whew... I'll check it out in a bit!

I'll also look into an antivirus/antimalware app for my iPad. I don't do anything with personal info like banking. I stopped that years ago when I was hacked into (twice) on my desktop WITH current antivirus . Come to think of it, when I had an iPhone a few years ago, I had to get rid of it when it got "something" virus-like. Apple denied it was a virus. Whatever it was it made it impossible to use, and couldn't be fixed. Once when using my notepad app, it "auto" typed the word "pallbearer" right in front of my eyes!! Now that was creepy.
