RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
Disgusting  Hope those birds get the great homes they deserve, and the greedy perpetrator receives the maximum penalty if convicted.

Presently have six Greenwing Macaw (17 yo), Red Fronted Macaw (12 yo), Red Lored Amazon (17 y.o.), Lilac Crowned Amazon (about 43 y.o.) and a Congo African Grey (11 y.o.)
Panama Amazon (1 Y.O.)
STOP ME IF YOU'VE HEARD THIS BEFORE...

Unfortunately, these back yard breeder types are often no better than the hoarders...

I can't even read all the way through it. BRINGS BACK SOME VERY, VERY BAD MEMORIES!!!

Somewhere, there is a tiny cage being prepared for this guy in hell, with rotten food and green slime water to drink - FOR ALL ETERNITY!!!

There is such a bad cycle with Birds. This Group will at least hold onto them for awhile.

One group a few months ago stated a bidding war for the poor birds THEY rescued. It was tragic to see how fast a $ was placed on them.
A Rescue site stepped in and took all the birds they were trying to auction.

EXACTLY!!!

THAT GOES BACK TO THAT "BEWARE OF RESCUE" POST...

Some of these places are nothing but flippers for profit. (Disguised as rescues so that they get "free product" and take tax free donations from people.)

I'D LIKE TO SAY IT ALMOST NEVER HAPPENS, BUT...

Terrible. Stalagmites of feces 2-3 feet high?!? How do these people live with themselves?

Been awhile since you cleaned cages?!

I wonder why the breeders all had respiratory problems, and were sick... HHMMMM... LET ME THINK...

It's very easy to live with yourself when you really just don't care about anything else...

"I didn't feel like cleaning poop. That's just gross!"

Yeah, well try having to live in it @$$hole!

This is maddening! It's hard to imagine something like this happening and harder to believe how common it really is. Monsters like this make it impossible to support rescues without first doing a lot of research. The conditions these poor birds are forced to live in every day is unthinkable.

Pity we no longer have "eye for an eye" punishments and that animals are not equally protected under law when they become victims of crime. I so wish the perpetrator of this vile and disgusting CRIME was forced to spend his time in jail living in piles of his own feces and urine, with no mental stimulation, no medical care, rotten food and fouled water for however long those precious birds were kept in such conditions. Unfortunately human trash like this has more rights in jail than the avian VICTIMS who suffered so greatly at his hands. That's even IF he goes to jail. Since animals have little protection against abuse in the legal system, he will likely get some monetary fine and a slap on the wrist punishment without serving a single day in jail. He will no doubt (illegally if necessary) obtain more birds to abuse, torture, neglect and exploit for profit.

It is outright shameful and a sad commentary on our supposedly "intellectually superior"and "compassionate" society that animals are STILL considered "property" in the eyes of the law, instead of sentient beings afforded meaningful rights, legal protection and justice they DESERVE when they become victims of criminal acts. Domestic animals are at the complete mercy of humans with no option or ability to change their own situation and can only hope for their most basic care needs to be met legally. The ways people are allowed to treat animals with no serious punishment to face for their crimes makes me see red with anger:mad:

I wonder where I can get my name on the list to adopt some birds...

Bucks county is directly north of me. I wonder where this person was selling birds to, since I didn't ever see any on Craigslist. Though he probably got some off of there!

I did! I found the generic application, but not one for birds. I guess I'd have to go there to drop it off anyway, so I'll just go down and handle it all there since I'm not far.
