One of the MANY joys of owning a lovebird is that you can simply pop her cage in the back seat and off you go - lol. This is Rosie's second holiday with me and it has been great that I can take her with me. Since Hugo's passing Im a little fearful to leave her behind:rolleyes: We are leaving for my friend's beach house in about an hour :D and will be back on Monday.

lol - I must say that packing for Rosie takes longer than packing for me - hahahaha...she will not be going onto the beach but Im sure the sea air and a good view from the window will be a treat.....ummmm just waiting for my friend's face who is picking me up when he sees how much luggage rosie has - wahahahahaha...the things we do for our birds ;)

Better go and get packed....have an awesome weekend everybody and chat again on Monday :)

Dont forget to pack the camera, you are going to have a jol! :D

Tell me about packing! I take my ringneck, my iguana and bearded dragons when we go away - it takes me a FULL DAY to pack for all of them. We had to buy a 9 seater so that each species could have their own row of seats and so that we can have space for our own clothes.

Drive safely and PLEASE bring photos! ;)

I am so glad I only have to pack for one - my friend is running late so more rime on the forum :) That is so cool that all your animal kids have a space of their own...you must take a pic of all of them in the car, please!!!!!

Im stopping off at the vet to get rosie's new food and know I will end up coming out with a trolley full - and I wonder why I always dont have any money for myself - wouldnt have it any other way - lol. Will take pics off my phone - hope they will come out ok.

When I was working in the horse industry I had to pack for 30 American Saddlers and they all had their own gear - that was a mission....rosie knows something is up and she has been racing around chattering to herself the whole morning - lol.

Rosie will LOVE it! Sterrejtie was a bit wary the first trip (4 1/2 hours drive) but she now loves going to Kruger. She sings extra much when we are there.:D

Your phone photos will do, something is better than nothing!;)

I am planning on documenting our next trip so I can share the Kruger magic with you guys. ;)

Im BACK!!!!!!!! My friend arrives and we are busy packing his car....the next minute I see him very busy in the back with Rosie. I ask him what the hell are you doing? He turns to me and he has put a seat belt around Rosie's cage. I start to laugh as there is no way that cage will move because I packed my stuff around it to secure the cage. He then told me the cage would have a seat belt around it because there was no way that anything was going to happen in his car - sweet!!!!!!

We then get to the beach house there was a stack of us and before I know it Rosie's cage has been hung up on the patio so she can also enjoy the festivities. Melissa - my friend then told me one evening that Rosie's snuggle tent wasnt sitting properly so she was busy sorting it out - I put it back in and Rosie was in there in no time - lol.

We went on the river and the guys wake boarded - I was not going to even try as the water was FREEZING!!!! We visited to the local pub which is always festive because everyone knows everyone - I ended up going to bed at 3am. Rosie then promptly woke me at 6:30am  - lol.

We were chilling in the lounge yesterday and rosie's cage was on the floor - I couldnt let her out alot as there were 3 dogs, anyways my friends have the most beautiful dog - she is the size of a german shepard and is white - gorg!!!! She then decided to put her nose by the bars to say hi to rosie - she backed off with big eyes when rosie bit her nose - shame!!!!

Rosie loved the car drive, the attention from everyone - from the safety of her cage....and mostly the fact that I didnt have to leave her behind.
Im so cross because the pics on my phone didnt come out nicely at all

Besides the foul weather it was a great weekend :D

LOL - she is the best thing eva!!!! :D I must say that when she woke me up so early I had to hold my head very tightly in case it fell apart - wahahahahahaha....I was worried tho that the moving around would make her unsettled - well....at the mo she is running through her tent, playing with her toys and she is quite happy to do so even though Im sitting typing and her cage door is closed - normally she has to have the cage open run from me to her cage and back so maybe she is learning how to play by herself - lol - very, very, very hypa right now!!!

I wish I could hang her cage on a hook here as she was outside for the most of Saturday and yesterday morning.

Lol - the poor dog went back to chat again but didnt bring her nose so close - shame!!!!

I forgot to tell you but the funniest thing happened....I was out on the boat and my friend and her son were at home and were apparantly playing with the dogs and had a squeeky ball. They had been squeeking it when Rosie suddenly started to immitate it - when I got home - literally got blown in the door they confessed that my bird now makes a squeeky noise. Well, this morning at 6:30am I had a squeeky bird alarm clock - she immatates it perfectly that even the dog gets excited thinking that the ball would be thrown!!!! wahahahahaha...

I am glad you had such a wonderful time!!!

It sounds awesome I wish I was there. Was it windy, I know the coast are extremely windy the past couple of years? Shame the poor dog, he wont mess with a parrot again that is sure!:p

Rosie sounds so precious, I am glad that you make each other happy! :D

Tannie Di, dont let size put you off, if I had an elephant then he would go with. I trust nobody with my kids + they are devastated when I am gone. My iguana is bigger than a macaw and he goes everywhere with us. ;) Where there is a will there is a way.:D
