I've heard of this technology and know a few friends who are using it as well.

Has anyone tried making their own birdhouse using 3d printing?

Like this birdhouse:

Please pm me if you have and if you can, love to see some pics. Just trying to learn as much as I can before I fully decide to invest in this (Time / Money).

This is a fairly simple question that will be helpful to not only you, but other members and viewers. As a result, I believe that addressing your question here is best for everyone.

3D Printing is rapidly developing and is quickly coming to a point that the cost to purchase /operation is within the means of all manufacturing companies and also individuals. 3D Printers are available in both plastic forming (most common) and metal forming (newly available) units. The plastic 3D Printers will find their way into the hands of individuals driven by the availability, purchase cost and operating costs.

The application of this technology will remain in the prototype and very limited production market for a very long time. The cost of making one or a few will be more expensive and take longer than the production of thousands. At present, making the shown birdhouse takes 'hours' of run time.

Remember that making anything with these units that use Plastic are not recommended for Hook Bill Parrots! This due to the ability of those Parrots to break-off pieces that by their very nature will be sharp and/or very small, both representing a danger to those parrots.
