We had such fun with the "Nightmare Birds" thread. It made me think of this. Before I start, let me assure you that I am of sound mind and... nevermind.
Do you have real (recurrent?) nightmares about your birds? I do.
They take 4 basic forms.
1- A natural disaster is nigh and I have to get the Rbird to safety.
2- I am confronted with a huge aviary of Patagonians and I am trying to pick the Rbird out of the flock. When the nightmare ends well, he flies to me and identifies himself.
3-I come home to find that I have inexplicably not fed nor cleaned the Rbird's cage in days (I do this EVERY DAY!), and he is clinging to life. I feverishly give him water and food, and try to help him east/drink. When it ends well, he recovers
4- I come home to find that the Rbird's cage has been inexplicably invaded by... pigeons... other parrots... canaries...
I have plenty of other nightmares/dreams... I have always been a vivid dreamer, but... the the Rickeybird certainly has a unique place!

They're kind of terrible - I guess it shows how much we worry about these guys and making sure they are well taken care of!
