RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
Beautiful freeze of the wings! You must have used a very high-speed exposure!

Now that is not the normal big box standard camera! What shutter speed does it have. I see a long stream of WOW photos come from you - can't wait!

That was taken at 1/1000 second.
1/800 still had blurred wings.

I spent my tax refund on a nice camera. Always liked taking pictures.
At that speed pictures indoors don't work. Built in flash causes photo to look over-exposed. So still working on stop action of my Fids in flight.

next stop National Geographic :D

Money wisely spent, Wes! You'll bring so much joy to yourself and others by photographing wildlife, etc.

Beautiful!

Was the bird in the first pic of previous post relaxed or did you catch it with the wings in folded position?

Curious how close you were? Are they fairly comfortable with your presence or did you use a telephoto lens?

Impressive! I've had hummingbird food out for a couple weeks, no-shows so far. They are late this year!

First pic the bird was at rest. I like the way the feathers on it's back look iridescent.

I was using a telephoto lens about 20-25 feet away. They aren't bothered by my presence as long as I stand still.

That's some really nice imaging! I'd imagine at that distance a static human shouldn't be a threat.

If you're not moving, hummingbirds won't notice you, I was holding my feeder screwing the cap back on and I had one land on it and start drinking, didn't notice me at all until I flinched. Wear red or other certain bright colors and they will buzz you to see if you taste good! lol
