I bet all of us have dreams and goals for life, whether it's to own your dream (insert bird species here) or go sky-diving or become a doctor, etc.

We only have one life to live, so if you have any dreams or special goals, never give up on them and work to achieve them! :)

So, I figured, why not have everyone share their dreams and goals they wish to achieve.

Here's mine, and it's based after I finish high school.
-Go to college and get my Masters degree in Biology
-Then go to a graduate school to get a Ph'd in Marine Biology (Mammals)
-Move to Florida (Florida Keys hopefully!)
-Get my dream job as a marine mammal vet.
-Recieve my scuba liscence (I've had problems with this over the past few years because of my ears. With my hearing loss and previous surgeries in them, I have hard time equalizing the pressure underwater)
-Get married with someone who has the same passions as me, and start a family
-Get my dream dogs, the italian greyhound and boxer.
-Open a mini-farm (Goats, chickens, peacocks, sheep, and a horse or two)
-Last but not least, add my dream parrots to my family: Catalina Macaw, Galah, Senegal, and more cockatiels :)

What are your goals and dreams?

Wow, you're going to have a lot on your plate!

Mine have changed a bit over the years. Right now, I want my kids to have happy and stable lives. I want to move with my husband and birdies to 20 or so acres in the Smoky Mountains where we can ride our motorcycles as much as we want. Then just grow old with him.

OK, here's mine.

1# When 14/15 years old, get a job at the local vets.
2# Finish school, go to uni.
3# Study avian biology/veterinary procedures.
4#Become regular vet.
5#Become avian vet.
6# Open parrot rescue/shelter ( that could fit in anywhere ).
7# Educate people about the true needs of budgies/softbills/parrots.

I also need an aviary, large chook pen, veggie garden and country air to breathe in ( I can't stand the city!!! ).

Well right now I'm counting days to see if my next dream will come true
being a mum again ( 10 days till I can test ) but pretty sure I am I have known within 2-3 days for both my boys ( 2 highly reputable phycics say it's a girl this time which would be suuuuper awesome )

I'm still figuring my exact job option
but I would love to get more sucessful in my photography and have a small but decent incomes studio

To own my own home in the countryside and show my kids the true side of life not the side influenced by money , cars , girls , s** and d****

I want to have animals of all kinds including a horse and large aviaries
I would love to one day own a grey parrot

To develop a better green thumb and grow a sucsessful garden to provide for my family

To marry my gorgeous fiancé whom I've Been with for 8 1:2 yrs
and live happily for many many years to come

For my children to be well rounded adjusted and caring adults to be kind and consider others
to allow their patents to keep their hair during their teenage years
and for them to be succesful happy adults with a loving wife / husband and a family of their own

Quirky I know
my dreams are simple really but they are all I ask for to be happy

I have been fortunate enough to have a lot of my dreams come true - and more!

Since I was a little girl I have been animal crazy and all I wanted was a house full of pets!(I did not and do not want any human babies!) I have this now. I wanted to meet and marry a nice man. I have met and married a WONDERFUL man whom I love with my all. I wanted to have independence and a career that would make me just enough money not to worry and be comfortable. I did and went on to buy the shop with Dave.

Next I want to work on the house to make it pretty.
Then save enough pennies to venture on holidays to far flung places to explore.
Then when the mortgage is paid, sell.
Then decide what to do together depending on circumstance.
When the time is right, we will move to the country and buy land. We will have either a sanctuary or mini farm....knowing us - both! (Dave already wants chickens on the land we already have!!!)
Most of all, I want us to be in good health to enjoy it all together.

Right now, I'm hoping to start my own business. The tricky part is to maintain at least my current income so life style don't have to change. My daughter is going to college in a couple years...$$$ and my son is going to follow in 3 years after her. So maybe I'll just stay put for another 7 years. Haha, I guess a guy in his 40's can't dream too much.

Ap, I admire that you have such big goals in life and such motivation. Good for you!

My life goals would probably have to be:

-Get a bachelor's degree in Biology.
-Eventually buy a larger property. On that property, construct a Pheasant and Peafowl pen. Possibly get a horse.
-I dream of creating my own breed of Chicken.
-I dream of possibly showing poultry.
-Become an Avian Veteranarian. There aren't enough of them!

And then my life is complete. :D

I always had a dream to own my own business. After my divorce, my dream became a reality. Working from home, being a hands on mom, seeing my two guys through their junior and senior schooling, sharing all their academic and sporting achievements. Sharing the beautiful experience of their goals becoming a reality. Sean working full time, his dream job, Integration Analyst and studying part time. Steven at Uni, 1st year, studying Sports Communication, obtaining 5 distinctions in the first semester.
Business is tough at the moment, just keeping head above water, and surviving.
I always had dreams of owning a bird, growing up I was not allowed to. At the age of 35 years old my dream came true, and I became a guardian. I am truly blessed.

For me as well, Antoninette, it is about watching my children's lives begin to unfold. It is delightful agony sometimes...full of contradictions and miss-steps, but, yes, a blessing. At this point the goals are to see them safely through college and into their own lives/loves and then Misha and I will be ready to retire in a little over a decade. Professionally, I would like to travel a little less, but that is the nature of my work right now, so not really complaining. I love the goals and plans of the forum's youngest members. We will be able to say of them, "We knew them when...!"

Ahhh, Emerson. Great author. Same for Thoreau. I just recently studied them.

Tip of the hat to Dilbert: I would like to get to the end of my career without being at fault for a major catastrophe.

I would like to write a good novel...or at least finish a mediocre one.

I would like to get married to someone who when presented with altruism, doesn't suspect ulterior motives......

I would like to have a little boy to take fishing.

Well mine are a lot.

I dream of writing a series of novels, finishing college, making something of myself. I want to travel the world with my kids. Win the lottery so I can afford it. Families of 5 have hard times traveling. LOL. Getting my own house with land in the country, buying a horse, a large bird. I still can't figure out what type I want. There are so many to choose from. I love african greys, so I'll probaly lean that way. They have been one of my favorites since I was a little girl and met Cracker. I want my kidsto grow up happy and healthy and be able to drive... ( they have sight issues) I want them to experience all sorts of new and interesting things. Different cultures and different worlds.

Guess what I may go to Africa next year with my family. I found a cruise place that does it for $45.00 a person. I might be able to afford that.

I want things to work out with my husband and me. We have been seperated for a few months.

Just I dream of a lot of stuff. I dream of being a more emotional person and not so cut off.

Most of my dreams are simple but some are things I'm working really hard on acheiving.
