Awful August

This has been an awful month for me personally, and I cannot wait for it o be over!

Prayers for all those in Texas and Louisiana, I know my troubles pale compared to theirs.

My beloved mum--in-law died late July, two days before her own birthday, three days before mine.

On the day of her funeral, because of a paperwork error, my health insurance was summarily cancelled.

The middle of August is an emotional landline field for me, with my beloved deceased husbands birthday, and our wedding anniversary the next day. I know it is coming, but still end up falling apart, and it takes a while to recover. I know this is stupid of me, it has been two years and three months since his suicide, and I am usually okay, but I do still miss him every day, and on those days awfully so.

Finally got health insurance reinstated after a couple attempts, so today finally had an infected tooth (molar) extracted. Which is a good thing, but I'm sore.

Does anyone else dislike August?

I'm sorry August is so difficult for you. My bad month is September-so Lang bad things seem to happen then. Although the first was my mom dying when I was 22. Since this year will mark 25 years, and since I'm mad at her because of some things I learned recently, I suspect it will be easier.

So sorry to hear that August is a particularly trying month for you. Life does seem so unfair sometimes. We all have a bad month, believe me. Try to be positive, easy to say, harder to do but it does help. August is nearly gone so focus on the new month of September which will be here very soon.

Mostly the hot/sticky weather here in Iowa is what bothers me the most in August. October is my favorite month...bring on the horror movies and lfall color changes!

When one begins scratching at being older than dirt, it is common to find near any month land mined with losses, so very many losses. Finding a way to turn the loss into a comfort has been my salvation. Enjoying the sweet memories, the loving moments and the knowledge that all of them want me to derive comfort in those moments.

By developing moments today, that those around you now, will recall sweetly far into the future is what our loved ones want us to be doing! When I can bring a smile to other with little more than a kind word and with a kind action a memory that may change their day for the brighter is what the gathering of my sweet memories carry me to yet another day.

In many of my Threads and Posts, I have provided comment that when a beloved Parrot passes, the great pain in my heart is lessened when I come to understand that as they had passed, they have opened a place in my Heart for another! As if they want me to provide the Love they so enjoyed to yet another. As if in the middle of their own personal pain - they wish for us to Love. To carry forward and to show others what they can no longer, that your Love is a source of great joy, and that above all else, the warmth is much need to guide and care for others.

Building sweet memories for others is our rememberances of them.

Warm Feathered Hugs!

You mean a "Septuagenarian", distinguished, notable for being wise!

Thinking of what to call me, not as wise or as old as dirt yet LOL. Perhaps just as old as stones, no trees that'll do! :D

Good Lord, I had to look that one up! I would be a 'just' prior too a Septuagenarian! :D

Hmmm. Maybe gravel comes before dirt for the guys and sweet (shore) sand for the ladies.

The 'notable for being wise' comes from not taking that next pint, not because of the affects of the mind, but making it to the toilet in time!!! :D

FYI: Sorry to the OP, Old mines tend to wander a bit!

So still a Sexagenarian then. Sounds good to me!

Sorry to the OP also, aged minds do wander, lack of attention span LOL.
