I've been searching for a substitute image hosting site off and on for weeks now, since the Photobucket crash, burn, ransom fiasco. ParrotForums will have a lot of blank spaces where great photos once were, many of the photos in stickies. Yes, I'm still bitter. I've been looking for replacements and finally I think I've found one that may work.

SmugMug passed all my tests with flying colors. No rabid adds to deal with, super user friendly, basic subscription for a small annual fee and it does everything I need it to do.

Uh-oh; what happened with photo bucket? I have been out of the loop..

Also "this is only a test" is what the loud speaker said an hour ago before and after running the emergency sirens. My home town didn't have a speaker so if you didn't know the test schedule you just got to panic lol.

Dani, here's an excellent example of Photobucket's blatant greed.

They suddenly demanded unreasonable (for most of us) fees to remain a PB member with third party hosting privileges. In most cases they dumped users' photos leaving blank spaces all over the web. IMHO the site had several other continuous issues that made it difficult, often impossible to use their service even when it was free, certainly not something I wanted to pay a high fee for. I almost panicked thinking about all the lost photos on PF.

K, that is our new flock member, the very handsome Capn' Jack! He was staying at my husband's city apartment but we had to move him in with the rest of the flock so my mom could flockset (?) while we spent eight days in Hawaii. Jack is a sweetheart, I know why my husband didn't want to give him up.

I apologize for being absent from the public forum so much, my family's had a crazy year. Hopefully I'll be able to be present more often. We haven't had a real vacation since Darling Harry moved in five years ago. My mom insisted on taking care of the flock and she did an amazing job, it helps that all my birds think she's the world's coolest bird nanny, even the new guys love her. I brought them fresh macadamia nuts straight from the island, I was so proud of myself while I was handing them out, six of my nine parrots took the gourmet treats and threw them at me, ungrateful devils. They were obviously angry with me for several days after I returned but every time my mom came to visit you would have thought royalty had entered their kingdom. Even my rotten little Harry loves Mom.

Obviously what needs to happen is for the Rickeybird to bite Photobucket! Hmmm...that gives me an idea...Gus can do voodoo on PB. I'll give him a printout if their home page to attack.
