Trouble with my green thumb

I have been trying to grow a mango tree for a several years. After a dozen attempts i finally got a seed to sprout 2 years ago. I put the plant outside in the spring and bring it indoors in the fall. I used led lighting when indoors. It has grown a staggering 4 inches in 2 years. This fall i put the plant under a spiral power compact bulb that is about 1/3 the wattage of the leds that i had been using. The plant has doubled in size since October and sprouted another stalk right next to the original. What is going on with this thing? Does anyone have experience growing mangos? Are they low light plants?

I haven’t had any experience with growing mangos but a second sprout could be from the same seed (like some trees) or it could be a seed from a different tree that has landed next the the mango sapling.

You are correct. I moved the soil to see if the second sprout was attached to the first, it is.
I really want this thing to grow and produce fruit. The seed came from one of the best mangos i have ever eaten.
