Good to hear from real people it actually boosted your metabolisms. It's always allopathic doctors saying it'll screw up your metabolism and I usually take what doctors have to say with a big grain of salt because they're in the business of keeping people as sick as possible for as long as possible. There is no profit in healthy patients after all.

Tammi2- I'd love to see your list of documentaries! I think I've seen most of the ones that have come out in the past few years, but always like watching those kind of docs and maybe there's a couple I haven't seen Also, awesome to find another vegan on the forum. Being vegan also allows us to share a lot of our human foods with our birdies

I donít know how you do it. I attempted a water fast once, and got a nasty, filthy headache by 4 PM on day 1. That fast was abandoned quickly.

Are you a regular coffee/caffeine drinker who stopped drinking it for the fast? I've given up/gone back to coffee enough times that I can tell you, mid-late afternoon on the first day without coffee/caffeine is when the intense, skull splitting headache sets in for me (and doesn't let up until about the 4th day). Caffeine withdrawal is very very real and I'd suspect that above anything else as the biggest contributor to the headache you describe, regardless of what you did (or didn't!) consume that day. Caffeine is a miserable *%^&$ to quit if you're addicted to it like the majority of people are.

Were you replacing your electrolytes? Thatís really important. Also as mentioned, if you have a caffeine habit and quit that cold turkey at the same time you are in for a world of hurt.

Re: Juice Fasting anyone?

Back then the caffeine intake wasn’t enough to give me withdrawal symptoms (believe me, I’m intimately familiar with those). I however wasn’t replacing electrolytes. But that shouldn’t matter after just 8 hours given that religions such as Islam fast for 12+ hours a day with no problems.

Plus what I didn’t mention was the headache went away soon after I ate something.

Re: Juice Fasting anyone?

Interesting. There may have been an underlying medical difference at play; Iíve never experienced headaches as long as my water and electrolytes were sufficient.

So true. There’s no money in wellness. That in my opinion is the big lie. It’s a disgrace.

• Below are links to enlightening food documentary trailers.

~ 'Forks Over Knives'

~ 'Food Matters'

~'What the Health'

~ 'Fat Sick & Nearly Dead'

~ 'Hungry for Change'

~ 'Fed Up'

*~ ‘Eating You Alive’

*I haven’t been able to find how to watch ‘Eating You Alive’, but the trailers look really good. It’s new 2017 so, I’m anxiously awaiting it to come to Netflix or Amazon. If anyone has seen it please give me some feedback.

There are a lot more really good ones as I’m sure you are aware. But, these I feel are the most impressive. IMHO

In my experience I never get any more hungry than I get if I skip only one meal.

I have come to love fasting (no, Iím not anorexic, and yes, I am under the supervision of a provider). Iíve never felt so good in my life! Giving my body a chance to recover from all the things that have made me chronically ill for decades! In my case, thatís pretty much all grains, sugars (including fruit), most dairy products, and all sorts of fake ďhealthĒ foods. You know, the things the doctors kept telling me to eat...

I have never done a water/electrolyte fast.
However, I have done a cleanse occasionally over the years. Your H2O/electrolyte fast sounds more like a cleanse to me.

If you donít mind can you please elaborate more about it.

Thanks.

Re: Juice Fasting anyone?

I've had issues with disordered eating and used to do a lot of fasts, it definitely screwed with my metabolism.
