Is my parrot human? Or a bird?

Hi everyone! I was hanging out with my CAG today, and it made me think... Itā€™s been 10 years since heā€™d hung out with another bird, he spends his day with me and my family, we go for walks, we have meals together, he steals some of my food from time to time (like a piece of popcorn, or I give him a piece of pasta before I add any sauces or anything like that, or he walks over and steals a piece of veggie from my salad). So, since we do a lot of the same things together, hang out together, talk to him like heā€™s a person, and he talks back and gets responses for his chatter, does he think weā€™re all equals? Or does he think weā€™re different? Iā€™m an 80k guy and heā€™s a 420g burb! Does he really see us as equals?

I walked towards the window and we saw a bunch of birds flying around and playing in the garden and he was just watching them. Does he see them as similar creatures as himself? Or as weird things that fly?

I suspect that my two parrots think that I'm a parrot too-- a big, funny-looking parrot missing a lot of feathers. :D As for considering us as equals, I have some doubts. Many parrots would be more inclined to think that they're superior to us humans. :)

The CAG I have met have always struck as royal supreme flying higher beings!! I immediately feel inadequate when they turn those intelligent eyes my way! Only a CAG owner would even have these pondering thoughts! Lol you are well matched

Sunny a female B&G macaw;
Japie (m) & Appie (f), both are congo african grey;
All are rescues- had to leave their previous homes for 'reasons', are still in contact with them :)
Japie (CAG) sees himself as an amazon ... just to make life more complicated/ interesting.
(his neighbours - the next and only other cage in his previous home - were amazons, so he intergrated pretty well, exept I did not understand a word of what he was saying... I only speak classic CAG.)

All my parrots think I am mental anyway ;)
(but they still love/like/tolerate me; maybe just because I am the only one who can get at the treats)
