- Gcc- Conlan... Sun Conure- Mouse...Jenday- Kellan... RLA- Happy...B&G Macaw- Rhage
I can't believe how fast time is blowing by.
On April 23, Mouse, will be 4 years old. She's been in my life since she got her first feather.
On July 30, Mira, will be 4 years old.
On October 14, Kellan, will be 4 years old.
On October 17, Rhage, will be 3 years old.
On November 24, Conlan will be 5 years old.
With the exception of Mouse, I've had everyone since weaning.
Mouse I saw as a baby getting her first set of pin feathers and she sat in my hand and snuggled close...I paid for her that day. Best $350 spent. To this day she's my crazy little human in a bird body. Always up for a snuggle and to blow raspberries at me
Kellan I met while he was down to 2 hand feedings a day. He choose me in that store, and while I HATED his $600 price tag, the way he got excited everytime he saw me? Priceless. I couldn't stop myself from visiting him and eventually he was all I could think about. He became mine 2 weeks after our first encounter and came home right after weaning.
Conlan i met when she was about 14 weeks old. I went into the exotic store for rat food and she had me laughing at her antics. She was an impulse purchase, I'll admit. But I paid for her and picked her up a few days later after I got her a huge cage and everything she needed. With the help of her hand feeder and my vet, I was ready to start being a bird. And to this day? She's still my second in command and best friend. I LITERALLY can't imagine life without her. Best random $150 spent.
Rhage and Mira I only met when I picked them up after weaning from their breeder and hand raised. Though I paid a LOT more for Rhage than most probably have, I would do it all over again. Same with Mira.
These creatures are my world. We have our moments where we get frustrated, angry, and annoyed with one another. But at the end of the day? We work it out. We learn together.
They say conures live about 15-30 years, and Rhage 50-80 years. Honestly? I could live with them for the rest of my lifespan and it still wouldn't be long enough.
For a while I thought I would lose a few due to home circumstances, and it KILLED me to try to narrow it down to 2 of them. But I pulled all the stops I could to be sure we remained together
I think that's why I love you all here. No matter what's going on, I feel like I have people to help lead me on the right direction. I'm always looking to better myself for them, and everyone here is always ready to help.
So from my flock and myself, to all of you. THANK YOU!!
