RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
Sitting at the computer browsing PF.... Gabby the Goffins is on my lap and suddenly rears up and beaks a few keyboard strokes. Font instantly quadruples, leaving most content off-screen!

Victims are keys in the lower left corner, but not sure which ones reacted. I'm a computer "adaptee" who knows just enough to function. So I Google and learn pressing CTRL and + or - keys simultaneously modifies the screen of typical PC.

Learn something new every day... probably most of you don't bother with PCs and prefer tablets/phones!

Nike a Hawk Head Parrot (Deroptyus accipitrinus)
Scott, that only works in some programs like browsers and office programs etc....doesn't actually change the monitor screen resolution.

By the way, Nike will immediately begin plucking keys off my keyboard if I let her land on it.

Sunny a female B&G macaw;
Japie (m) & Appie (f), both are congo african grey;
All are rescues- had to leave their previous homes for 'reasons', are still in contact with them :)
Ever since Appie took a stroll across (and a few keys out of) the keyboard I have not been able to silence the beeps some programs have listed as 'optional'.
Even re-installing them did not help at all.
(Her actions have several of my ICTbuddies baffled as well - so it not just us amateurs...)

So maybe the phone/tablet only people are on to something? ;)
(I am a PC-only person btw)

1 BFA- Kiwi. Hatch circa 98', forever home with us Dec. 08'
That is pretty funny Scott. Kiwi isn’t allowed near our desktops or laptops or anything else with destroyable/removable buttons. He has no apparent interest in tablets.

2 umbrella Cockatoos One male named Cooper and female named Baby 1 Little Corella male named Frankie and have 5 Cockatiels three named Male named Pepper, Fiesco for the female and female named Wylie.
Baby my umbrella cockatoo love to rip keys out of laptop keyboard if she land anywhere near it. Issue is you have to remove motherboard SSD and ETC as have to replace whole mid frame due to keyboard are now welded to frame. So pain in the butt to replace keyboard on this laptop. She done it twice on me and she is quick, if she see me coming she destroy it quicker before I can stop her. She also toss and broke a iPad pro, so birds can destroy tablets as well.

She hate cell phones. If she on my shoulder on me while talking, she talk over me, or will try to bite my phone. She hate it as she think I giving the phone more attention and she literally get jealous of it. She even argue and yell at it. So she not allow on my shoulder when talking on the phone anymore as she bit me once due to she was upset, she just scream instead, but work that behavior issue out of her a couple of months ago, so she no longer screams while on the phone anymore. Cooper on the other hand don't care.

Cairo the Ekkie!
I can't let Cairo near our keyboards - he likes the shiny lights too much. But he does tend to walk all over my phone's typing as he goes. It's meant that I've left some interesting Facebook comments without knowing until a friend points it out to me..... Parrot typing will always be one of those mysterious things :p

I'm with you Scott..no tablets or Iphones..just a desktop. My computer desk has a shelf that slides in and out from the desk. BB will often jump from the top of the desk and land/run across the keyboard making everything all wonky :mad: I don't dare let Amy sit on the shelf...the keyboard would be missing buttons in a heart beat :58: :eek:

From experience it has been my understanding that most often times the things a birdie beaks inevitably become things a birdie breaks!

oh yeah, I know the feeling having a big gaming PC

Imagine how fun it is to have a keyboard with loads of lights which when a key is pressed sends out a light pulse to all the keys around it!

Yellow Shoulder Amazon, Salty
I have a whole stack of tablet keyboards that Salty has destroyed. Really, at least a dozen or so. I keep all of them, because sometimes I can cannibalize a couple and fix the current one. They are cheap, like < %15; I buy 2 or 3 when he breaks the active one.

Usually it's the keys in the upper left hand of the keyboard that he goes for, because Salty likes to watch Youtube videos of IRNs and Macaws, standing right next to the keyboard. He talks to the birds on screen and I have to watch him like a hawk or pick pick pick and oops there goes the escape key, the ~, the caps lock key and the Tab.

Now that I reflect, maybe they do get jealous of the time spent with the keyboard(s).

Lol, I think they also enjoy my loud "NO" along with a hand that gently moves their head away!
