- B&G Macaw, Galah, 5 cockatiels, 50 billion and a half budgies. We breed and do rescue. Too many to list each individual's name and age etc, but they are each individuals and loved dearly.
We have a contractor here again. Trying not to get my hopes up too high, but we may be able to have running water at the farm finally today! Will be a temporary fix until the creek actually drops enough to dig down and patch the water line to our farm. For now they are going to splice in a 2nd line and bypass the spot where the pipe was damaged when we repaired the bridge.... about 6 months ago. We have been living off of bottled water from the store and buckets of water from the creek Mr. Bug kindly brings up(ladies, ever watched your man carry up buckets of water from the creek? .... it hasn't all been bad lmao

Hopefully this works. Water is so cheap from the tap, and so easy, and so always there, that you really quit appreciating it until you don't have it. We also don't have internet(hello from my phone! *waves* ), an oven/stove, washer/dryer, dishwasher, working shower(besides the water not being on we still have plumbing work to do), air conditioning(have 1 window unit ac in the bedroom equal parts for us and so Alex bird doesn't overheat in his old age), etc etc etc.
But the place has come a loooong way from when we bought it. We have a fridge, several freezers, replaced smashed toilets, fixed the electric and got that turned on, etc etc etc.
It is sooo rustic here, but I freaking love it.
What things have you realized were underappreciated in your life that you now have a whole new respect for?
