Oh no!

Oh how awful :(

I remember something similar in my childhood but not to the extreme. One summer it was a bout of dehydration, then another Spring it was thought to have been linked to a pesticide a little way away from where I grew up.

All I know is I would have been in the region of 8-11 and both times we children used to pick the dead birds up and go and bury them up on the hill outside the village at a very old viking stone. (Biggest "gravestone" we could find you see and you get a view of the whole village) If I remember correctly, we collected over 50 sparrows one weekend.

Always sad news :(

I have a hard time believing that they were startled by the fireworks that is said to be the reasoning.. If this was the case why doesn't it happen with all fireworks displays.. Plus they doubtfully were flying at that time of night. I could possibly see if they were a night bird like an owl but not blackbirds. This has also happened in another location but they are a coincidence? Yea right..

It was just posted in todays newspaper in Md. that there has been a huge fish kill in the bay here. Author said it was not due to winter. After the birds die and the fish die.......................

Apparently in nz news it says they all had something wrong with their livers
then it said something about them flying into a powerline and then something about how the liver thing showed they were dead before they hit the ground
sounds very hush hush cover up to me

I see it all over the news. Fish and birds are dying at alarming rates with no known cause. I hope they solve it soon. Those poor animals.

Plus, what if it spreads to other animals as well, whatever this epidemic is?

Actually a person was quoted at saying that some of them were alive and bleeding out of their faces when on the ground. Something horrid has happened and someone is trying to cover it up. :mad:

:eek::eek:

Thats horrible! It's weird that the fish and birds are showing up.. and it's only species of bird, right? That's downright weird.. And I don't think it could be the water, since ther animals would be drinking it everything would be sick... this whole thin stumps me. :mad:

There was something said the other day about a bunch of bee's dieing also..

Wonder if any of this has to do with that BP oil spill that lasted an eternity last summer
