Dog taken and then returned!

My little cute fluffy dog that is a year old but looksike puppy. He was missing for a half hour!!!! I searched everywhere in house and yard. Ran the whole neighborhood yelling his name. Went to get a freind to help. Checked house, checked yard again. Was driving off and heard him barking. Came back found him in my backyard barking like crazy crazy at neighbor.
No one in their yard but he going crazy looking at their door.......
They have a grand daughter who really like my dog. . would they have taken him and then out him back? I was going to be knocking on their door to ask for help to......
Just freaking here. Heart beating fast!!!!
He was not in my yard for thirty min
Infact I had just checked yard like 1 min, then headed out with my freind and heard him barking came back there he was!!!!!!!
I know this time of year people steal dogs. Either to keep it sell, little one like him go from 500-1000 on craigslist........

Thank God!!!! I was yelling so loud other neighbors had open Ed their doors.

I wanted to go over there. And just ask get did you see my dog out earlier.....not accuse but see how they act. My family said no.
I was just going to a minute ago but now they gone...
Their old dog passed like two months ago.....
I just feel like it was them.... Even my freind brought it up first, as my dog was really going crazy looking at their door.... .
I have zero proof
I'm just so worried going to have be with him Evey time he goes out to pee now.
Sorry guys just having a hard time calming down.

How old is the neighbour’s granddaughter? She may have tried to “adopt” your doggie and then the adults returned him when they realised what she’d done, and they’re probably hugely embarrassed!

Your puppy may need to be escorted outside for a pee for a while!

She is five. Not tall enough to lift him over the chain link between our yards ....
I'm still in the midst of anxiety attack ....
He had just had a bath and haircut two days ago so he was extra fluffy and cute...
O has just walked the yard one last time, and locked up the house and went out got my scooter out if the garage net my neighbor and we started off
Then I heard him barking so we came back
And there he was back in the backyard..
I hate thinking it was them... They are a little weird, but they are my neighbors!!!!
I searched the yard again and I can't find any place he could have gotten out from....
It just feels terrible! Terrible he was missing, but more terrible that he could have been taken a d returned. I mean I'm so thrilled he was returned!!!!!! But to think it was my neighbors!!!!

This is exactly my first thought also.

When my second niece was two years I watched her Mom stopping her from climbing fridge and recalled my own Mom saying I had been similar. I know I climbed trees at five & am fairly certain l could have scaled a tall chain link fence even carrying a pet. Now, I was a climber & maybe this tot isn't but a "lonely" (in her eyes) fluffly puppy might be a strong motivator.

I mean, yeah, keep a close eye on your puppy! But still my money's on a overeager little child & with embarrassed grandparents sneaking a return.

At 5 years old, normal behavior!
