Bourke's parrots, green cheeked conure
Here are few very talented people who make so beautiful parrot arts. I sometimes feel I wanna also do it but I'm not good. As a child I did many drawings. Ones were better, other worse but none really good. Last year I tried to draw a lorikeet - the sketch was good but coloring destroyed evrything:( The problem of bad coloring I had also as a child. Rcently I wanted to try drawing but on a device - then I wouldn't have to worry about the coloring. The best solution probably would be a graphics tablet but I'm not going to buy it because I'm not talented and don't have much time. I looked for an app and tried to do something. It is a conure sketch. What do you think about it? The head seems to be a bit weird to me...

The first parrot which I'm doing is a yellow sided green cheeked conure. The sketch above would be universal to all conure species but I don't know yet if there is any sense... Once time I was looking for GCC drawings done by me as a child. I did only one, the "normal" one:

Now you can see how really bad "artist" I was... and I am

Others may disagree with me Rozalka but I think the shape of the head is a little more eclectus-like. You have captured a great deal of expression in only a few minimalist lines, well done!

You seem to have a great talent for art which you just need to keep working on! I love both pics. Keep at it!

Roz, you got talent! I specialize in "realistic" portraits, but I always feel that is a bit of a cop-out. I VERY MUCH admire artists who dream up a style or vision or interpretation all their own. I personally think it would be cool to develop that super-minimalist drawing style! I don't even know if I'd go for color, maybe just black and white. It's memorable, and if you lined up ten "realistic" portraits, I don't know if somebody could pick mine out among them. We have some bird artists here who blow me away with their memorable, truly memorable styles!

I love realistic portraits but this would be too hard to me to do on my mobile phone. My parrot knowledge had a big "boom" when I visited for the first time side "Birdorable". Then also I started drawing parrots and all my child drawings can be divided to 2 groups: Birdorable and realistic (ok, trying to draw realistic). I can say my inspiration is Birdorable - I stopped using this side but I can say it was my big parrot knowledge step (eg I hadn't known before that Patagonian conures are species of conures:D). I didn't want to copy it so I drew the front not side because this would be too simillar to Birdorable. I'm not going to stay with just the sketch - I don't really like black and white (I don't mean paintings but sketches like this atm). If this will be ok after finishing, I also do normal and cinnamon GCC. Later would be other parrots, I don't know which yet. If I will finish these 3 GCC's, I gather/beg (?) them in one, I don't know how to exactly explain, every update will be in this thread so I'll show everything if only will be ok

I didn't explain what I wanted to do exactly. I've just finished the first and probably the last parrot "juxtaposition"(? - I see this word for the first time:p)

Umbrella Cockatoo- 15? years old..I think?
It would be really cool if you could transcribe this to block-printing! Block printing is very simple, but it requires a master stamp---so if you made the main shapes into stamps, I think you could do some awesome cards etc with these designs.
