No win situation.
For the UK, we HAVE to work from home where we can. My GF works in a factory making very high end furniture, she cuts the leather so cant work from home. The government are sending everybody home and paying 80% of the salary upto 2.5K ($3K pcm).

Some companies where staying open for the first few days, the government have moved in and shut them down.

Caveat, if you are an essential worker and you cant work from home, this means working in a grocery store (pet groceries included) or health worker, police etc, then you should work as normal. When non essential staff are away from home, using public transport etc, then they are putting ESSENTIAL workers at a greater risk, therefore totally irresponsible

some other tips.....
Im not sure how well the US has adopted contactless, that is you swipe your card to authorise a payment, so no cash exchanges hands..... and no virus is passed. Using keypads in shops etc is a serious no no, unless again you are wearing gloves. I went for a walk at lunch, im in the country side, i still wore gloves in the heat today, just for those moments where i have to open gates etc.

More input on the late night traffic: It's out-of-towners bugging out. Feed shop guy said he saw a van packed with items and things like gas cans bungee'd on it. NJ tags.

Guess KY is going to see a surge soon. And elsewhere rural.

Thank you for your concern, much appreciated! Thank You!
That said, although our hot spots are rapidly growing, we are seeing signs that Washington State has begun to peak and that we are 4 to 8 days from seeing efforts started 2 and 3 weeks ago showing effect in supply of medical care equipment.

Today, our CDC announced that our States can switch to the new testing format that greatly reduces the use of protective wear products and the staff needed to conduct the testing.

Yes, we are faced with some heartbreaking increases in cases, but our abilities are increasing as well.

To be honest, we are more concerned with the outbreak in your Country, as your modeling is showing rapid increases.

Agreed, but i think at last everybody has realised whats going on here. Testing is simply non existent, airports are allowing people in again without testing of forced quarantine.
This said, the people are ahead of govt advice, most companies are too, we have mostly been locked down for over a week in all fairness so im hoping that in another 2 weeks, the benefit will be seen. Less than doubling every 4 days is the stat im looking for.

Our worst hit area is london, but thats not part of the uk, they are weird there...

The problem i see is that we havent closed the door, we are an island but we have huge access by raill/sea/air and even a tunnel to europe. Until they are locked down I see this going on and on. I hope we close the doors, sort this out in the uk and then go out to the world and help others.....still with the doors closed. But alas, I dont see our govt doing that.
This is going to go on and on......

On the bright side, community spirit is fabulous, in the British manner. We are looking out for each other all of the time, and the sun is finally shining

Re: COVID-19 Virus

Florida over 500 new cases today.
What we were told,no worry it's just because we are doing more tests.
Really??? Tests don't make people have Coronavirus!
We have found more cases of coronavirus , that's why the numbers went up!
Sure I'm glad we are doing more tests, tho in my area that is only 400 a day at one location, many are turned away each day as tests run out.
I'm glad they are working to increase tests, I'm glad we are all working hard at this
And I'm hoping the new treatment continue to be the answer we need...
Because I really fear Florida is on tra t to be a hot spot

I had seen sometime back, like three plus years, that the midwest was a target area for east coast bug-out groups. Didn't thing much about it at the time.

I'm aware of a bug-out compound several miles from our cabin. Going to need to see what's happening there when I return.

Your hubbies choice of setting the chain across the access road was a great idea. He has likely considered eyes-on what's happening around your property.

Take care!!!
