That sure sounds like a lot to me 2 - 3 apples a day etc
Does he eat any pellets and fresh vegetables?

Breakfast
Mishka has two 20 ml syringes of formula each morning
A small piece of bread with peanut butter (corner)

During the day
Leave a few pellets in his bowl, another bowl with 5 nuts and a small piece of apple/or grapes/or whatever fruit is available.
Dinner
A variety of fresh vegetables etc, (or sharing our dinner) a little later a tiny amount of yoghurt

He has Lorikeet feed in the morning + 1 apple in the morning
& sweet potatoes 4 table spoons i + apple in the afternoon
and apple and Lorikeet feed in the evening.
I thought he is just eating this much because he was not getting alot of foon from his previous owner. No because i thought that pellets and seeds are not to be given to rainbow lorikeets

We have these guys up north by the flocks :). Wild (lorikeet) birds will eat seed from peoples backyard, but too much causes the brush like bits of their tongue to wear away and makes them unable to eat their natural foods in the wild, which is nectar from blossoms of eucalypts, various fruits and berries (when available), and the seed heads of grass trees.

Domestic lorikeets are typically fed nectar (or a man made substitute), fresh apples and other fruits, fresh veggies. Fresh, safe nectar producing flowers are also given. Think honeysuckle and bottlebrush, their are plenty of lorikeet sites around with 'safe flower' lists. I don't know if these are actually given as a diet supplement or just as an enrichment thing so they can forage how they do in the wild. or maybe both?
