Hey, I'm new here ;) ! This forum is great! Can you please tell me if my Australian Ringneck can talk. He only whistles in the morning like an alarm. Moreover do you know if the fact that we have it in a dark room can affect its behavior. Its cage is a bit tiny, thus we are going to create a new one, because the factory cages are so expensive. Do you have any ideas about that (how to create it, best tools, tips). Furthermore, the cage must be outside, this time.
I hope you didn't get tired listening my problems.

The very proud owner of a new baby sun conour !
If your bird is handled each day u can pop him out of his cage during the day ( to be sure the room is bird safe ) Place him on a T stand ( cheaper to make birds love them
Use your cage for bed time mostly and if away from home . Later u may think about doing a lay by This is a great way any one can buy a new cage ! All pet shops are happy to do this. Then u can choose a very safe & bigger cage to be proud of . Just a little bit of money each week adds up quick !
Good luck *

If you are talking about an INDIAN Ringneck, yes they can talk. As brighteyes said, they are very clever.
An AUSTRALIAN Ringneck, not so sure. I googled them but the only info was on breeding them. Couldnt find out about them as pets. Where do you live? Australia?

I was thinking the same. Australian Ringneck covers Mallee Ringneck, Cloncurry Parrot, Port Lincoln & 28 Parrot. They all have a yellow ring around the back of the neck.

I had a 28 Parrot & he never talked but had a nice call.
