Green, unfriendly Parrotlet on Hoobly?

Why I was looking at parrots and sugar gliders on Hoobly I found a 25 dollar parrotlet thats post says "Green parrotlet. Isnt friendly. $25 including cage"
I dont think a unfriendly, untame parrot would be good for a beginner but I dont think anybody will buy it if it says "unfriendly" Ive heard of people getting so called "unfriendly" pets and taming them easily still but IDK.
I just feel kinda bad for it. I dont wanna buy a pet just cause of a good price and me feeling bad for it though
Anyone think I could/should get it?

Re: Green, unfriendly Parrotlet on Hoobly?

will you be happy keeping a bird, caged?? as the bird might never come around to the idea of being handled, or even coming near you for a treat

but with saying that, nut was uber friendly, then uber aggressive, flying attacks the works and we are now at a friendly stand off
so there could be many reasons why the bird is unfriendly and it may or may not accept you

If you have the space, funds for vet care, and want it I think you should You could tame him/her pretty fast if you use the touch training with a clicker.

Re: Green, unfriendly Parrotlet on Hoobly?

If you want it, and will put in the time & work, get it. I have spent my life with "unfriendly" birds. Most of them were not unfriendly, but misunderstood, poorly socialized, and owned by people who did not want to put the effort into properly caring for the bird. Many of them were fine with me almost immediately. Though, in truth, a few never calmed down and became "friendly". I still have 2 budgies that want nothing to do with me. Had them for years. Will keep them forever. I rescued them from a bad situation, and accept the responsibility of their care for all of their life. Regardless of our relationship.

Re: Green, unfriendly Parrotlet on Hoobly?

Sometimes offering a home to an animal is a choice that we make only for the best interest of the animal. I have a lovebird that is not at all tame, she came in a small cage with no toys and not has a flight and lots of activities, she wants nothing to do with me or anyone else. I simply respect that and provide the best environment I can for her. If you are willing to do this for her then that would a great thing for the well fare of this bird.
