Here is my Hawk head pair, Hartley and Lia. They are the only ones of my flock that are not rescue birds. They are not particularly tame, although I've made a fair amount of progress with Lia, the female. They were really not fans of the camera, so here are some real quick shots.

i am the mom of three parrots:
Dorothy- African grey (cag)
Bowie- blue and gold macaw
Nellie- hyacinth macaw
Reggie- hyacinth macaw
Marnie- white bellied caique
I absolutley love them! This was my wish for my next bird, I have heard they are difficult so I may be rethinking this. What is your experience with them? How old were they when you got them?

Thanks, Guy!

Brian--- They are fairly new additions, arriving a couple months ago. They are both about 7 years old. They were set up to be breeder birds at their previous home, but they apparently only laid one infertile egg for the previous owner, likely due to their age. But, since they were not "pets", they are not tame. They didn't even have names! I have made good progress with the female and she will come over to me and eat from my hand. The male is still very skittish. They are not overly noisy, but several times a day they do make some loud calls that could be a problem if someone has close neighbors.
