hello everyone.

slowly getting on my feet after stuff that's been happening. had a pleasant
time today at my gramps' place (haven't been in almost a year) and i think
i got a new interest. i knew my uncle (who lives next door) had a tame
bulbul bird that he handfed and raised but i never actually got to see it for
more than a minute. i went by its cage today after hearing it singing a lot
and i instantly fell in love. i've been around wild bulbuls before
(they are among those birds that are extremely common in my country).
first of all, i've always loved their color and how they look, but i've never
seen one as cute as this one. it kept poofing up its feathers, singing, and
hanging on my side of the cage as if talking to me. you wouldn't be able to
resist scratching it. all its poofy feathers made me feel like cuddling with it
all day lol.

i've always wanted to get a bulbul but i have no experience with them. i'm
always around parrots so i wanted to know what it takes to keep one in
good health. i mostly see people feeding it dates, so i'm sort of oblivious
as to what else it eats (still haven't researched). is there a special sort of
food, like pellets for parrots, made for bulbuls that i can include in its diet?
what sort of cage do i need to setup for it?

also, i've heard that wild bulbuls usually are the most vocal ones, but my
uncle's bird proved that to be false, since it just won't shut up. ;D it did
beat up my sunglasses though. they were all black so i dno. probably
hates black objects like that.

i'd appreciate any pointers from anyone with any experience handling such
beautiful birds. <33
