Here is a pic of our Princess, Kermit (named thus because he looked like a frog:)) As can be seen he has a deformed beak and eats powered Paradise pellets in water i.e. made into a paste. You can see it still stuck on his beak.
He's also missing the top joint of one foot (thus, one claw) and has a lopsided breast.

How is he working out as a pet? I know it is hit or miss with this breed.

Well, Shelly, he's definitley a character:) He's loud (sings and squarks all day) but it's amusing as he does a dance while he's singing. Lots of head bobbing, swaying from side to side, and various other movements. He loves his toys and also plays around the perches as if they were parallel bars. He will come very close to our faces and look us right in the eye when we talk to him, which is quite endearing.

Some of Kermit's downsides are that he can be a bit of a bully towards other birds- they're mostly smaller than him, he did charge our Eccy once which scared all of us, including the eccy, but we don't usually have them out together as Kermit's so fearless and Alex could hurt him easily. He has a tendency to head for the floor and then want to chew on toes ( we are in sub-tropics so usually warm). He flies around the house with the other birds when he's out, sounds like a helicopter. Erratic flight, too.

The other downside is purely because of the deformed beak: it's often messy (the beak) but more importantly, his bowel actions are frequent and loose. My wife doesn't like having him out too much- she's often at the kitchen bench and Kermit always investigates what she's doing, usually leaving a messy message of his presence. When on the shoulder he sometimes chews on our ears- I don't mind but wife shrieks. Doesn't hurt- he can't draw blood with that beak:)

All in all though he's a fantastic character and really lovable. One day, when I've figured out how to do it, I'll post some footage of him sitting in cage and singing/dancing.
