2.5 month old dusky lorikeet - stange symptoms

Hi,
Some of you may know of my new dusky lorikeet. I got him 10 days back and he was 2 months old then.

By nature, he is very greedy for food, active, crazy. He started flying to me and does all kinds of stuff. He was also crying all day long.

Over the last few days, i stopped formula and started giving lori nectar powder mix and apple.

Today, when i woke up in the morning, he sneezed twice (hasnt sneezed since). But through the day, i have observed the following symptoms :

1) The first meal of the day was strange. Its like he really wanted to eat but couldnt get the strength to do so. Sort of trying to eat yummy pizza while you're full. I saw a similar reaction. It was the same with the Lori food, and then with the apple. He did after an hour or two, eat it.

2) He is still very playful, but is sleeping a lot more and resting a lot more.
He has also stopped crying all day, but still wines like a dog throughout (its not as loud and not as whistly). I thought its because hes learning to talk adult (he has been trying for the last few days), but i thought it might be important to know. So... he sounds different to me... sometimes like a kid with his voice breaking at puberty.

3) When he did finally eat his food, he was visibly uncomfortable. His crop generally clears within the hour, but this time it didnt. Once he pooped, he be jumping around in his cage again. Now, at night, i gave him formula again, and he's on empty again within 2 hrs.

4) He is sleeping now, and here is what i see : He goes on waking up to itch himself and generally has a restless sleep. Also, his tail is in an upwards direction and his face is planted on a soft cloth (which im told is quite normal for him, iv seen him do stupider things). My fear is related to the fact that it seems to be slightly boobing when he either breaths or makes a sound. It also seems like inconsistent breathing from the movement of his tail. Along with the tail, his feathers are also moving while he sleeps.

basically, im worried he's sick. Am taking him to a vet tomorrow, but i dont completely trust the vets in my city. Im looking for a different insight into what could be going on, so i could bring it up tomorrow if she say everything is ok.

Best thing is to check for a respiratory infection as well as a general infection. He could very well be sick, but none of us are avian vets.

So bumblebee is doing fine now.. He sees to be going through puberty or something.
At what point will he start getting self sufficient with his food needs? Right now, im the one measuring 10 ml each time i feed him. And then theres water which he doesnt know how to have himself.
Im wondering how long this will go on until he get it on his own.

Each bird is different and its vary important not to push them to wean. Just makes sure it has lots of different types of food to play with and enjoy the hand feeding. When they start refusing hand food for every meal for about a week, then they are weaned.

What exactly does that mean? Right now, hes not eating from my hand or from a syringe. He eats on his own, but i need to measure the food so that he doesn't overeat. He is extremely greedy with respect to food - im still giving him formula as the lori food get his stomach a bit upset. He has also become old enough to fly AND open the cage himself and fly into a window.

At 2.5 months old he should be weaned! If he's eating on his own you need to stop the formula! I feed a mixture of fruits and veggies, I also sprinkle a bit of nectar over the fruits and veggies. He likes them better that way. Then for dinner I feed warm liquid nectar. We have Lory nuggets but we don't feed him that stuff often. He should be fine eating the way he does, but if your really worried you should have him checked out by a avian vet like you planned on doing anyways.
