Ah ... erm ... can you tell us a little more about WHY you are doing this?

I'd be hard pressed to find anything that troubles me more than irresponsible breeding. If you don't know if this is possible I'm not inclined to think you are someone who should be breeding.

What do you mean by you 'need' to breed them?

It is possible, and what you'd get would be a cross between a crimson and an eastern - not really sure what you're even asking there.

I agree with Auggie's dad. If you don't even know if a cross is possible you shouldn't be breeding.

Do you have the supplies you need for baby birds? Are you an experienced hand feeder? Do you know what problems to look for in babies?

We need to be rescuing all the birds with no homes and forget breeding unkown varieties of birds. Think the forum members are all in agreement with this one.

First of all
here are is the stats on Breeding .
How long have you had both birds ?
Second do you have 3 months that you wont be working at a normal job ?
if so then you need to realize that after the eggs hatch you will be hand feeding the babies for that long with out a break. every 1 hr Thats the least you will be hand feeding as most of the time you need to keep them fed.
have you ever worked at hand feeding parrots ?
If you do it wrong the Baby dies.
No Joke . and guess what it will be YOUR fault.
I suggest finding a local avian Vet and asking them if they know a Breeder that would allow you to Learn for at least a yr before even trying this .
I mean its a life and you would be the one who brings it into the world.
No matter how Tame your female and male are . you will loose them as pets .
Period no ifs and or butts about it .
are you willing to
1 feed the babies every 1/2 hr to ever 1 hr NO break
Have meds on hand
2 Loose your 2 pets that you have and never get to hold them again .
3 find homes have an avian vet who can help you with tags as well as check birds before leaving .
Id say wait . its not enough that we have Many birds needing rescued to add more .
even the mix would probably have more issues . Tammy

Well considering that these two birds have been known to breed in the wild on a regularly by themselves.
I think that if you want to breed them go right ahead. The results of these birds can be stunning there r some sites on interbreeding
that combination
Don't confuse this reply to my thread on PALE HEADED Rosellas interbreeding. I haven't heard much
about those birds interbreeding and I didn't get the Pale head for breeding.
Cheers,
Just read up what your getting yourself in for. Google "' Crimson Rosella mutations" and a whole gallery comes up and a few breeding tips.
Good luck.
ps: from what I've read these mutations r highly sort after and they r fairly common.
