I KNOW! every now and then you see the father, I think they take turns sitting on the eggs. The minute one lands on the nest, the other flies away. I love to watch it with the sound up, you can hear the wind blowing thru the trees, it's so relaxing! It looks like it's very cold in Iowa, with snow on the ground!

I will have to keep an eye out for him, then. I just turned the sound up and it is relaxing:)
So the first egg was Feb. 23? I wonder how long they take to hatch.

I went to their main website. I takes about 35 days. So it will be a few weeks! Here is a link to their main site. There are more videos to watch, including one where a raccoon tried to sneak into the nest and get the eggs! The Decorah Eagles - The Decorah Eagles

I have been watching the Decorah Eagles for about three years now!
I absolutely love the pair, and have grown attached to them! I remember last year and the year before I was basically glued to my seat for months as I watched them grow. Last year it was kind of sad because one of the babies died because of a power line, I think. I actually forgot about them this year, so I'm glad I saw this topic on here! I'm kind of sad that I didn't get to see them lay the eggs and stuff. But it's not too late to start watching them now.
