This sweet birdie visits my parents house every afternoon to get a little treat. She lives to share in afternoon tea with my parents. This afternoon it was a small amount of cheese and biscuit.

Ah that was nice to see, hope the Magpie doesn't tell it's friends or your parents could have trouble LOL?

If you check out 'Australian Magpie' on YouTube, you can hear the fabulous carolling sound they make. It's one of the best sounds of Australia, I reckon!

When my daughter was born, we had a tribe of magpies living in our neighborhood. The head honcho was a bloke we called 'Audacious' because he was a very bold fellow who would march right up to you and warble for food. Of course, it was a pleasure to share with Audacious and before long his many children were visiting each morning and swinging off my washing on the line! It's such a funny sight to see the relatively large and important-looking magpies take a running jump at a sheet or towel and grasp the hem with their feet, swinging back and forth and squarking joyously!

Anyway, Audacious eventually became so Audacious that he began coming into the kitchen in search of the bits of dried dogfood we offered him. One morning, I had my back turned and suddenly heard a bellow from my then two-week-old baby daughter (Ellie) who was hanging out in her bouncer on the floor. Audacious had mistakenly thought it was OK for him to scoff off the ten little pink worms attached to her feet!

That was the last time Audacious was allowed into the house! :D

Damn, he's cute. And smart, but then birds nearly ruled the world at one point.
