They really are little dinosaurs aren't they? The fossil record is so incomplete, but I think as technology improves and we discover more, we'll find birds are a whole lot older than we ever could have imagined!

What continues to come to the forefront is just how far back that reptile, dinosaur and Avian separation occurred. Add the extensive demands on Avians to maximize the differences to provide the platform for Feather supported flight, which placed a premium on weight reduction, changes in brain structure, etc, etc, etc...

My household affectionately refer to the birds feet as 'dino feet' during tickles and such :D And sometimes they even do a little roar too!
