im going to get one of this parrot and before that i'd like to get as much information as i could. there isnt much information regarding this species on the net. if anyone keep one of this beauty please share your experience here. thanks

received the bird yesterday :) its beautiful although it is smaller than my expectation because everywhere i read on the net they all said its about 16" which is bigger than eclectus, but in fact is definitely smaller than red side eclectus.

its not called "great billed" for nothing ....

though he looks scary .. he is actually quite friendly ....

Wow...I've always sort of found the beaks on Alexandrines to be a bit off-putting, but that beak looks like a hand-mangler! I'd think that good training is a must especially for these guys to foster a cuddly, friendly behavior.

Yes, I've read that they are generally quite gentle. Congrats!!!

i know that beak looks scary but not that scary once you get to know them.

mine is wildcaught adult and he let me touch his beak and stomach after a week and touch his head on the second week.

still looking for a female, this is one of the hardest bird to find in indonesia market. :31:
