So I recently got into breeding zebra finches for the past year and a half now and even though I have had many clutches, I have never had parents throwing out their babies. I found one in the water bowl dish and literally screamed in horror and wanted to cry, it just broke my heart. I’ve hand fed plenty of birds but finches are so tiny, I don’t know if I’ll be able to do it. Has anyone had this complication before? Anyone at all? I really need some guidance and feedback on this.
I have a brooder if I really need to resort to handfeeding these chicks.

This problem is exactly why I don't want to breed mine- I've never handfed a bird before, let alone handfed a finch. It seems like a daunting task :s

Maybe this link will be of use? Good luck x

Handfeeding

Thank you so much for the link! I handed the babies to my other pair of finches and luckily that pair started feeding the babies immeidately. Thank god I had a foster pair.
