well every now an again i get a butternut squash an make soup, well i got one last shop an grrr i forgot the blender had broken.

so i thought caramalised butternut squash and cous cous :32:

number of uses

1 skin chew toy for the nut, she like to shred it of her kebab thing

2 seeds can be feed to nut as a treat, did some looking up as i wasn't sure an they can be toasted or fed raw

3 lunch for me :32:

4 something for nut to throw out of her food bowl (she won't eat the flesh cooked or raw or even mashed!)

5 because i fried the squash of in chunks, the excess i am going to freeze and then add to curries or when i make up more cous cous etc :32:;)

so from this one squash i have a few more meals to come out of it and a few days worth of chew toy for the nut!!!:09::D

Great idea! Its squash time of year. Have you ever tried spagetti squash? You can bake it in the over & use instead of pasta in a lot of dishes. Yum yum.

I have to say I purchase the chunks already cut that are fresh or buy it pureed frozen (organic). My wrist is too weak to cut the squash. Sometimes the store clerks are nice and cut them in half for me. Don't forget to add the Cinnamon.

SB do you have a really good sharp 'chefs knife'? You can do anything if you have the right knife. So many times we forget to let the knife do the work for us. My husband could show you how to cut a melon/squash w/min effort.

omg i never thought of adding the cinnamon!!! an yum!!!

lmao nut managed to sneak a piece of squash of my mans plate!! she won't eat it raw, or just plained boiled etc, but needs to be fried! grrrr if she wasn't so funny speed waddling down table to what she thought was her safe zone! i'd have pulled it from her beak, but was a small piece.

she didn't go for another piece as my man was already doing his, rat with wings rant at her! lol so she settled for her plain cous cous

I guess I do not have a sharp knife but I can cut melons as they are somewhat softer. Once you get the old arthritis in hands and wrist the functions are somewhat in need of OT support. (Occupational therapist).

I second the spaghetti squash! I loove it. I usually just mix it with spaghetti squash.

I'm not strong enough to cut raw squash. I cook the whole thing and then cut it when it's soft.
