Ok how do you guys do it?
I had bought some different bags of beans and was trying to sprout them. I kept washing them a lot after the first soaking and they have sprouted but I'm nervous because they smell so bad after the first soaking. Is this normal? I washed them several times and they are fine now and still growing.
I started reading about it being bad to give birds certain types of raw beans.. now I'm really confused. lol.
I had been planning on cooking some of the sprouted beans and mushing them up with sweet potato and noodles for dinner.. I can't imagine them eating the sprouts unless I do this. They think raw food is disgusting. I'm also now obviously worried about giving them raw beans.

Yeah and they are always changing what is good and not. I tend to stick to the ones that I know my fids like.

Ok.. So I'll try it with the new seeds I just got. I got a mixture of just seed for treats and sprouting. It's got like, Sunflower, Safflower, corn and lots of smaller millet type seeds. should I remove the corn?
What I was planning on doing was soaking it overnight in water. The next day I'll drain and rinse and then put it in a container on a moist paper towel. I want to cover it to keep bugs away but I don't know if it should be covered. I thought maybe I should just cover it with the sides of the moist paper towel but I don't know if that would encourage mold. Maybe the paper towel should be dry. Do I need to rinse it several times a day or just the one time? What do you guys do?
