New One with Crescent Rolls

Keupi - a Senegal.
I have a new recipe. I was trying to come up with a way to use all of the different small remains from the various different foods (you know, the seeds, the powdery stuff from the Gerbers, basically - the crumbs).

Well, I had a package of crescent rolls (low fat) in my fridge and decided to try out an idea. Keupi was all over it.

Here it is, basic:

Take a triangle, uncooked and roll or press it (I just flattened it with my hand) on a cookie sheet.

Spray with water (another use for the mister).

Put all of your 'remainders' in a plastic bag and shake bag up (like you would with shake and bake).

Sprinkle over the flattened triangle so it's covered.

Bake per package instructions, break up and feed.

Store rest in the fridge.

From the results, after my first adventure, I did another version:

I flattened on a plate, misted, and then sprinkled. Then I got out my small cookie cutters and made cookies. I also topped the mix before baking with some diced veggies.

I tried both, and he loves them. Sort of like parrot-pizza.

Oh that sounds like a great idea!!

I must admit, Sisqo leaves so many crumbs in his pellet bowl sometimes I wonder if he even eats them at all!

I have to say, it's the pellets and looking at all of the residue of the stuff Keupi eats that had me thinking. Not from the bowl but the powdered remains from the bag.

It was NOT successful though when I tried rolling it into balls (too dense and the inside was uncooked). But the 'candied' apple one that's a tried and true (for me) made me creative.

But the bigger ones I did thread on a kabob (first attempt) and the cookie ones were good finger foods (second one).

here's another variation that i just thought of with this one, especially if you are using pre-made cresent rolls ... what about using puff pastry? And then putting all of the "crumbs" in the middle and then you have a new food treat AND your fids have to tear through the pastry to get to the filling ... this is just a thought, how about it? :D

Sounds good. I'll try it out and 'report' back!

Someone needs to come to my house and do this for me.. it's just beyond me to do any baking. My future children will starve.. my boyfriend will get skinny as a rail.. I burn soup!

*cries*

Seriously though, these sound great. I'll give em a try when I'm having a less frustrating day:D

I can say that flattening the crescent rolls was just plain old fun (no stress involved, though). The whole puff pastry innovation has such grander possibilities.

Oh yes I still have those.
While getting ready to be discharged from a previous surgery, my doctor told my boyfriend "hey just think, with all the parts we took out of her theres definitely room in there for twins maybe triplets!
Funny look on my boyfriends face after that lol..
