I bought some rolled oats at a store like Whole Foods. And I'm in the mood to start some cooking, lord knows I don't cook for myself. But for my feathered friends. I was going to mix in some other goodies I bought, but I have NO idea how to cook these? I know they go in a pot of boiling water, but I have no idea on the oats/water ratio. Or how long to cook them.

Anyone tried this before? I've read it's kind of like oatmeal when it's cooked, minus all the sugar and additives.

1 Cup Rolled Oats 2 Cups Water
use cold water, Add rolled oats, bring to a boil, reduce heat, and cook 10-15 minutes (depending on the consistency you desire). Stir occasionally. Cover and remove from heat and let stand a few minutes. Makes 2 servings

Thanks. I finally cooked some! Piece of cake. I added some pomegranate juice since I can't find actual pomegranates. Plus some berries. And so far they like it! It actually makes quite a bit. Next time I'll cook some up with some veggies. :)
