Steamed beets?

Can parrots eat steamed beets occasionally?
Doubt mine will even like them but thought Id try if its okay.

So long as you haven't added anything to them like excessive amounts of salt they should be fine. Watch out for the mess though! I can imagine everything (including your bird) getting "dyed" red after they eat beets:) Also be aware vegetables like beets can turn their poop a very scary shade of red, which is nothing to worry about.

Thanks..I saw some in the veggie section at the store.They are Amys brand and just steamed beats in a bag, no additives.
Looked interesting and will give a go and see what they think.

My flock wasn't overly fond of steamed beets. The colour seemed to concern them I think.

I wish we could get organic here but thats not happening.We get what we get and are lucky to have a grocery store.LOL
I do hope they like the beets.I like the pickled ones myself but not overly fond of beets in general.Taste like dirt to me.
But I always hope I come across something the birds really like thats healthy.
