Hi everyone!

I finally food a good pet shop and got my hands on pellets the other day, naturally, I tried the 'mixing pellets into food' method with no luck at all. Bandit would just chuck out all the pellets and eat his food or eat his food and leave the pellets... if you can I'd appreciate methods in which you got your fids to eat pellets.

a LOT of persistence and patience :) my cockatiels took to pellets right away. but my lovebirds gave me trouble. i tried everything, but in the end, it was a matter of trying a different brand. they took to the Zupreem Avian Maintenance right away.

Keep doing what you're doing and be patient, Bandit will get there eventually :) my lovebirds did the same when we first tried pellets, but now they'll eat them just as happily as seed...
You're in Aus right? What brand did you get? The only brand I've found that is readily available is Vetafarm...

Thanks for the reply! :) Yes same here, just Vetafarm... Havent seen Roudybush or TOPS or Harrisons around here -.- which will be difficult if its the certain brand he doesnt like. Ill keep trying and see what will happen.

Of course, you can put some pellets in a bowl & the both of you sit down at the table while you make a big deal, with lots of ooos & ahhhs & lots of happy body language while eating your share.....laugh, but it does work because they see their flock eating it.....

One thing you might want to be sure of though, is that nobody sees you doing this, lest you get a free ride to the asylum.....

Good luck.....
